어느 날, 김현은 절에 가서 밤늦게까지 탑돌이를 했습니다. 그때 김현은 한 예쁜 처녀를 보았습니다. 그 처녀도 자기처럼 밤늦게까지 탑돌이를 하고 있었습니다. 처녀를 보는 순간 마음을 빼앗긴 김현은 곧 처녀에게 다가갔습니다.“무슨 일로 이렇게 늦게까지 탑돌이를 하시오?”
처녀는 놀란 얼굴로 김현을 바라보았습니다. 김현은 다시 처녀에게 말했습니다.“아가씨, 나는 아가씨를 보는 순간 내 배필이라고 생각했습니다.”
