1. Is there any way to improve my accent?

Yes, it is! It won’t happen overnight, but you can definitely improve your accent if you want to do it. There are many methods to do it. Some people can pick up a new accent very quickly, other people need more time, but the key is practice.

2. How can I improve my American English accent?

The key is listening and imitating native speakers. How to do it? You can watch American movies with subtitles and try to repeat after speakers, listen to American music (find lyrics and sing along!), listen to American radio (VOA News Special English is great!), talk with native speakers (it’s the best method, so if you live in the United States or Canada you can very quickly improve your American accent) or learn from an audio course.

3. What is the best method to improve my American accent?

Audio course is definitely one of the best ways to improve your accent. How does it work? There is a speaker who teaches you every rule of American accent – pronunciation rules (how to pronounce vowels, consonants, diphthongs), intonation rules, word connection rules and so on. You will be surprised, because there are many rules which you aren’t aware of.

You can definitely improve your American English accent, but it takes some time. If you keep practicing every day, you should quickly notice results. Good luck and have fun while practicing your American accent!

Why is fast English so hard to understand?

When we speak in conversation, we don’t pronounce each word clearly, and we often join words together. This means that it is difficult to hear when words begin and end, because we pronounce them as one long sound. My students often say – why do English speakers do that? They want the words to be pronounced separately and clearly, so they can understand them. But think about your own language. You don’t stop and start between words and if I listen to your language, I will not be able to understand where it begins and ends.

Yesterday I didn`t/couldn`t write a journal entry, because I was very tired due to writing three entries in Chinese at the same time.
So this time I will write an entry in English about my friend from China.
I have a friend who came from Yantai in China a few days ago, but she is not a Chinese, she is a Korean.
She has been living in YanTai for a long time, and I went to her house 4~5 times already.

몇일전 중국 옌타이에서 온 친구가 있습니다. 그러나 그녀는 중국인이 아니고 한국인입니다.
그녀는 벌써 오래전부터 옌타이에 살았습니다. 그리고 나는 4~5번은 그 친구 엔타이 집에 가 본적이 있습니다.
음.....아마....거기에서 산지 거의 한 10년은 되어 가는 듯 합니다.
와....아........시간이 정말 빠르네요!내가 잡기에는 너무빠릅니다!

그건 그렇고, 여름방학이라 친구는 아들과 한국에 다니러 왔습니다.
내일은 그 친구와 또 다른 한 친구를 함께 만날 겁니다.
사실 그 두 친구는 나의 대학 동기입니다.
조금전에 나는 친구와 통화를 해서 내일 영화를 보러 가기로 했습니다. 영화‘인셉션Inception’' 을 보기로 했습니다.

내일 수업이 끝나는 대로 내가 그 친구 집 근처 극장으로 가기로 했습니다.

Yes!
Today in the late afternoon, I met my two good friends at university, and we watched the movie ‘inception’.

By accident I read a summary of the plot /(or the gist of the plot) of that movie in the newspaper a few days ago.
When I read it I wondered/felt some strange 'what`s the dream in a dream?' 'sharing a dream?'

Today when I watched that movie, suddenly it occurred to me to ask where are the limits for the spread of human imagination?

Yes! 'imagination' it`s a super great thing, but also it is sometimes dangerous too.
As you know, this movie is based on our unconsciousness as we dream.
In fact when we are in a dream we use some kind of 'kick' to wake up.

And also sometimes we can feel it seems like a dream in a dream,
and sometime`s we can not wake up from a dream, at that time we need help from someone to wake up.

Sure, now we can say that we are already all over our whole Earth space, we are sharing Earth space with the whole of the Earth's internet friends at the same time, like lang-8 firends, so we can say already we are free from space.

But we are not freed from time, yet.
But in that movie‘inception’, they can freely go and come through time too.
The other movie 'Avatar' will it also come true in our real human world, maybe?
There`s a possibility someday, in my opinion.
So,,,,, I don`t know what kind of a boundary line human imagination will go to.

네! 노늘 늦은 오후에 나는 두 대학동기를 만나 함께 영화'인셉션'을 보았습니다.
몇일 전 나는 우연히 신문에서 이 영화의 간단한 줄거리를 보게 되었습니다.
그 때 나는 '꿈속의 꿈?' '꿈을 함께 나눔?' 에 대해 약간 의아하게 생각했습니다.

오늘 친구와 함께 그 영화를 보면서 문득 '인간의 '상상력'은 대체 어디까지 갈 수 있는 걸까?' 갑자기 궁금해졌습니다.
네! 인간의 '상상력'은 정말 대단합니다, 한편 위험하기도 하지만요.
여러분도 아시다시피, 이 영화는 인간의 꿈속에서의 무의식을 바탕으로 합니다.
사실 우리들이 꿈을 꿀 때 어떤 '킥/자극' 에 우리들을 잠(꿈)을 깹니다.
또한 우리들은 꿈 속에서 꿈을 꾸기도 하고요.
그리고 가끔은 잠(꿈)에서 깨어 나지 못해서, 누군가가 우리를 깨워 주기를 바랍니다.

사실 이미 우리들은 현실에서 이미 지구상의 공간을 장악하고 있다고 말 할 수 있습니다.
우리들은 지구 공간을 모든 인터넷 친구들과 동시에 함께 공유하고 있습니다, 마치 우리 lang-8친구들처럼 말이지요.
그래서 우리는 이제 더 이상(any more) 공간에서 구애 받지 않고, 자유로울 수 있다고 말 할 수 있습니다.
그러나, 우리들은 아직 시간에서는 자유롭지 못합니다.
그러나 영화 인셉션에서 그들은 시간을 자유롭게 오갈 수 있습니다.

다른 영화 아바타 같은 상황이 우리 현실 인간세계에서 언젠가 실현 될 수도 있으리라 여깁니다..아마도? 제 생각에는..
그래서,,,, 나는 인간의 상상력이 어느 한계까지 이르게 될런지 정말 모르겠습니다.

아~~ 너무너무 졸려요. 너무 졸려서 쓸 수가 없습니다. 그래서 지금 자러 가야겠어요.
내일 다시 와서 한글로 쓰겠습니다.
