It is the Queen's official birthday, celebrated on the second Saturday of June. The ceremony takes place on Horse Guards Parade, near St James's Park, which isn't very far from Buckingham Palace.
The Queen's birthday parade is the biggest royal event of the year.
It's a spectacular and colourful military parade on Horse Guards Parade with about 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians.
The British sovereign crown receives the salute of the troops and then inspects them. The Queen did all this on horseback when she was younger; now she is in a carriage.
Why the name "Trooping the colour" ?
In the parade, the regiments show the Queen their flags: they "troop the colour". Trooping the colour was important on the battlefield in the past; it stimulated the troops.
After the ceremony, the royal family appears on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Members of the Royal family, guests and the public watch a flyby by the Royal Air Force.

• To tell you the truth it`s not a lunch menu, it`s a brunch menu.
• It's a spicy chopped roast chicken that my husband made this morning.
• My husband made it for our son.
• Yesterday, my son got one week furlough from the army.
. /He got one week vacation from the army. /• Haha, it seems he hung out with them as much as he could.
• Sure, he returned very late, and this morning he (like me) woke up late as well.
• Just my husband woke up early in the morning, and made this chicken.
• Oh, he also prepared chicken’s feet.
• Does the sight gross you out?
• Hahha, maybe,,,but you know? They say that chicken feet contains a lot of collagen.• Oh, I tell you about what my son and I did yesterday.
• While my husband was out, my son and I moved objects in the living room. We moved some bookstands and the TV. After we had finished, everything looked better.
