WOohhooo … ooOOoo……oooOOOoooo……
• Before I write an English entry I usually feel a little tense/ nervous.
• Because I know it’s not easy to write English entry due to my poor standard of English, ?)
(Because I know that writing English journal ( is ?) difficult for me. )
• so it take more time to write a journal in English.
• Whew! But there’s no other way…… Just I need the time, and I will write more and more…one by one ..
• I don’t need to rush, but instead to write it slowly and steadily……
• So now I will begin writing today's entry in English!
• The entry below is my Chinese journal from yesterday morning, and now I will write an English version, too

That level crossing on the outskirts of the town in the gathering dusk; the piping birdlike voices of the three children; and the brilliant color of the oranges that showered down upon them – all flew past the train window in the twinkling of an eye.
But the scene etched itself on my mind with a clarity that tore at my heartstrings, and I was filled with a euphoric lightheartedness and joy.
I raised my head in elation and scrutinized the girl as if she were completely different person. She had moved back to the seat facing me on the opposite side of the carriage and had once again buried her chapped cheeks in the apple-green woolen muffler, while in her hand, as she clasped the large cloth-wrapped bundle, she tightly clutched the precious second-class ticket.
It was then that I was able to forget, for the first time, a little of my unspeakable weariness and languor, as well as the meaninglessness, vulgarity, and tedium of life.

By this time the train had glided out of the tunnel and was about to pass a level crossing near a poor settlement on outskirts of the town, hemmed in between hills covered in deed grass.
A jumble of shabby roofs of thatch and tile were crowded together close to the crossing, where a dingy white flag – presumably being waved by the crossing-keeper – was wearily joggling the twilight scene.
No sooner did I realize we were out of the tunnel than I saw three red-cheeked boys standing close together on the other side of the barrier at the bleak crossing.
They were all small and looked as if they were cowering beneath the overcast sky, their short kimonos matching the color of the drab settlement.
Looking up at the passing train, they raised their arms and their pathetic little voices, shouting something as hard as they could that I was not able to understand.

That was the instant it happened. The girl with her head and shoulders out of the window, suddenly stretched forth her chilblained hands and vigorously waved them, or so o though, when all of a sudden about five or six tangerine oranges the color of warm sunshine, that brought joy to my heart, came raining down upon the children who had come to see her off.
It took my breath away. In that instant everything became clear. The girl was on her way to take up domestic employment. She had kept the oranges concealed in the bosom of her kimono and she had thrown them out of the window to her little brothers to thank them for taking the trouble to come and see her off at the crossing.

The First Course
A true English breakfast begins with a glass of orange juice or half a grapefruit which is cut into segments, sprinkled with sugar and eaten with a spoon. Prunes or stewed fruit would also be available.

Large pots of tea and coffee to be served with milk are also brought to the table.

The Second Course
Next are cornflakes or porridge. Milk is poured onto the cornflakes, but they are eaten before they become saturated. Though for the real English breakfast enthusiast, nothing surpasses freshly prepared porridge. It is made by cooking oatflakes only with water and a pinch of salt, and is served together with a knob of butter, a sprinkling of brown sugar and hot milk then added. It is said that it is only necessary to try this dish once to become virtually addicted to it!

The Third Course
The third course consists of eggs, usually fried eggs. These would be served with fried bacon. Many people would also have scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and sausages. The healthier option would be poached eggs, but most prefered theirs a little less healthy!

This part of the breakfast is what is considered to be a 'full English' today. It is also known as a 'fry up' due to the nature in which is is cooked.

Elizabeth's birthday is on the third Thursday of this month.
