Her name is Judy Hopps.
She is a rabbit, but she is courageous and fearless.
She is a young police officer as she is 24 years old.
She comes from Bunnyborrow but now, she lives in Savanna Central.
She has 275 siblings; her mother’s name is Bonnie and her father’s name is Stu.
She is optimistic, friendly, stubborn, clever, determined and hard-working too.
She can run fast because she is sporty.
She can jump high and climb. She can also fight. However, she can’t speak Italian or ride a horse.

Nat Turner, who was born on October second eighteen hundred, was an African American slave.
He was born the property of a small plantation owner in Virginia called Brian Turner. He was a very clever child and as rare as it was for slaves, he learnt to read and write. He was also very passionate about religion and as a young adult, people had started calling him « the Prophet »
In 1820, he was sold to another master and then again in 1828 to a white family called the Travises. In January 1831 he escaped from the Travis plantation before changing his mind and going back to the plantation.
However, a few months later, his hatred of slavery was too strong and Nat decided to rebel against this unfair racist system.
On the night of August 21, 1831 together with seven other slaves, Nat Turner led a bloody revolt. The group murdered Nat Turner’s new master as well as his entire family in their sleep. After that, the rebels decided to march towards the nearest city and to kill every single white person they saw on the way.
Nat Turner and his fellow slaves killed a total of 57 white people, before they were arrested. Turner, who was sentenced to death by hanging, died on November 11th, 1831.
The consequences of this insurrection were enormous.
First of all, new sets of laws and rules were passed to restrict even further black people’s rights : they were forbidden to meet in groups without the presence of a white person. This revolt brought the realization for white people that slaves were not happy about their condition and Nat Turner’s example became widely used by abolitionists who believed that slavery had to come to an end.

The Jim Crow laws, were laws created by Southern white Americans who were unhappy about the abolition of slavery.
These laws enforced racial segregation in the South between 1877 and 1964.
These Southern States’ laws required the separation of whites from “persons of colour” in public places.
In 1896, these laws were declared legal by the Supreme Court. It stated that black people were « separate but equal », but in reality, Black people were treated as inferior.
Segregation was in place in every aspect of society and black people did not have the same rights as white people. Here are a few examples of what was in place during the Jim Crow Era :
Black people were forced to sit in different parts of buses and other modes of public transports.
The schools were either exclusively white or exclusively black.
Black people were denied voting rights
Black people were forbidden to marry white people.
Public places like parks ; libraries, or even toilets were segregated
Black people were refused in some shops and restaurants.
These are only a few examples of how during segregation, black people were treated unfairly and were considered as inferior citizens.

On a gloomy night in November, I completed my work. I was so nervous that night it was painful. I collected the instruments of life around me, that I might infuse a spark of being into the lifeless thing that lay at my feet. It was already one in the morning. The rain pattered dismally against the panes, and my candle was nearly burnt out, when, by the glimmer of the half-extinguished light, I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open. It breathed hard, and a convulsive motion agitated its limbs. How can I describe my emotions? And how can I describe the creature whom with such infinite pains and care I had formed? His limbs were in proportion, and I had selected his features in the hope that he would be beautiful. Beautiful! Great God! His yellow skin scarcely covered the muscles and arteries beneath. His hair was long and black. His teeth were pearly in their whiteness. And yet these traits only formed a more horrible contrast with his watery eyes. His eyes were almost the same color as the white sockets in which they were set. His complexion was shriveled, and his lips were straight and black. I had worked hard for nearly two years, for the sole purpose of infusing life into a lifeless body. For this I had deprived myself of rest and health. I had desired it with a passion that far exceeded moderation. Now that I had finished, however, the beauty of the dream vanished. Horror and disgust filled my heart. I could not bear to look at the being I had created. I rushed out of the room.

John had always dreamed of getting away from his small town, where everything seemed to move slowly and nothing ever changed. One day, after thinking it over for a long time, he decided to set off on a journey to find something more exciting.

At first, everything went smoothly. He checked into a small hotel near the coast, which was much quieter than he had expected. Even though it looked simple, it turned out to be more comfortable than his old apartment.

While he was walking along the beach, he ran into an old friend who had moved abroad years ago. They caught up quickly, talking about what they had been through and how their lives had changed over time.

However, things started to go wrong when John realized that his wallet had been taken from his backpack. He tried to calm down, but he couldn’t figure out how it had happened.

After asking around, he found out that someone had been following him since he arrived. Because of that, he had to come up with a plan to deal with the situation.

Even though he felt nervous, he decided to carry on with his trip instead of giving up. He believed that this experience, as difficult as it was, would help him grow.

Later that night, he came across a small café where people were laughing and talking as if nothing had happened. Compared to the chaos in his mind, the place felt incredibly peaceful.

He sat down, ordered some coffee, and started to think things through. Little by little, he began to calm down and see things more clearly.

In the end, he realized that what mattered the most wasn’t what had been taken from him, but what he had learned along the way.

From that moment on, he promised himself that no matter what he went through, he would never back down from his dreams.

After the Civil War, an American form of theater called the Minstrel Shows became very popular among white people. The shows were performed by white actors wearing blackface makeup who played African American characters. The most famous character of these racist minstrel shows was named Jim Crow.
These shows were terribly racist and used racial stereotypes to mock African Americans. They portrayed black people as inferior being who were greedy, dishonest, cowardly, lazy, and stupid.
The shows conveyed the idea that black people were not civilized enough to be treated as equals.

In 1890, the Irish author Bram Stoker began research on vampire legends. He spent seven years developing the atmosphere and the characters of his story. During this period, he stayed in the town of Whitby in North Yorkshire. The dramatic ruins of Whitby Abbey and the local shipwreck of a ship called the Demeter inspired him immensely. He even found the name "Dracula" in an old book about the history of Transylvania. In 1897, his masterpiece, Dracula, was finally published.

The story was a massive cultural phenomenon. Since that time, readers have been fascinated by its dark atmosphere and terrifying villain, and Dracula has become the most famous vampire in history.

In the world of cinema, the Count has appeared in more than 200 films. Movies like Interview with the Vampire or the Twilight series have used and transformed the idea of the vampire.

In literature, countless authors have used Stoker’s specific rules for vampires—such as drinking blood, avoiding sunlight, and turning into bats—to create their own stories.
Moreover, tourism in North Yorkshire has developed as curious travelers have visited the famous 199 steps in Whitby. Even the town itself has hosted a famous "Goth Weekend" twice a year to celebrate this dark heritage.

It’s sunny today, so we’ll go hiking this morning.
Then we’ll have a picnic and admire the view.

In the afternoon, we won’t go swimming because the Firehole Swim Area is currently closed. Instead, we’ll go horseback riding and birdwatching, where we may see some amazing birds.

Yellowstone sits on a massive volcano, which is why it has so many geysers.
You can also admire towering cliffs, beautiful rivers, and more than 350 waterfalls.

If we’re lucky, we may see bison and bears.
We may also come across beavers, squirrels, and bighorn sheep.
We may not see wolves because they are more active early in the morning or late at night.
