This house is Mr RYS’s brainchild. It was designed in 2011 for the fiftieth birthday of our vocational high school Bernard Chochoy in Lumbres which is situated near St Omer. It’s a modern two-storey house situated in the school yard of our school. It’s very bright. The neighborhood is quiet and very pleasant and the locals are friendly.
It has been given the name of « rt2012 »It has solar panels and heating flooring. It uses natural light and is easy to heat and cool.
It was built to maximize exposure to sunlight and thus the house has plenty of sunlight during the winter too. It’s very well insulated, with low-energy windows. It has been specially designed to keep energy consumption to a minimum
This 211 square meter house will be used as a showroom. It is built in such a way that it looks more like an exhibition office than a house.
It has been made only from materials given by companies such as CB PRE.MIX, GROUPE CB and RAMERY BATIMENT, etc. and the students work together on this project.
What’s the house like ?
It’s quite large. The interior of the house is very simple. On the ground floor, there are 3 flats.

Across from this room, you have a corridor with a cellar (4.85 sq m) and a bathroom with a toilet, a shower and a washbasin. As you come out of the bathroom, the bedroom is on your left. It is 11.51 sq m.
