I have lived in Charfield in the south west of England since I was born. It's a village of 850 inhabitants. It's 30 minutes away from Bristol. It's in the country. I like living in the country. It's peaceful, pretty and clean but sometimes it's boring because it's quieter than a city. I live a long way from my friends and there aren't many shops or cafés, and there isn't a cinema or a swimming-pool. It's far from everything !
My cousin Alex lives in Bristol, I like visiting Alex because Bristol is more exciting than my village. It's a busier place. There are sports facilities and a youth centre. You can go to the ice-rink, go bowling, go swimming….There is a huge shopping centre! There are cultural facilities such as a theatre, a museum and a library. It's a touristy place with many historical monuments. There are more exciting and interesting things to do than in the country. There are a lot of buses so it's easier to meet friends. Alex likes living in Bristol but what he likes the least in his town is that it's dirtier and more polluted than a village. It's noisier, there's so much traffic. He also says that he doesn't always have the money to go to the cinema and he thinks people are friendlier in Charfield.
