At it's best...when everything is working right, when everyone is open to it, it's... lovemaking. Elliot starts a phrase, maybe just a bit softer than usual, so we come in under, Alan and I, like we're...coddling it, like more than a breath would kill it. Then Carl lands on the bottom, Terra Firma, and the whole thing rises, floats, together, falls back, arches upward, no one leading, no one following, it's just...pulsating. Like it's alive, like some living, pulsing organism...copulating with itself.
At it's worst...it's like...swallowing Drano.

Katniss is the greatest super hero ever. I’ll describe her physical appearance to you. Get out your colour pencils and draw her on a rough piece of paper. The drawing, closest to reality, will be shown at the school library.
I’ll first tell you about her face. She’s wearing a green mask and she has almond-shaped blue eyes. She has long red curly hair and a crooked nose. Regarding her costume she’s wearing a light green leotard with a dark green four-leaf clover on her chest. She also has two huge white wings on her back. Don’t forget her thin golden belt and her red and white striped shield. What I really like is her long furry black gloves holding her impressive yellow bow. And between her two wings she’s carrying a basket of long thin brown arrows. Finally she never goes out without her magic black boots.

There are many old houses, pubs, and hotels in Britain which people say have ghosts. A British newspaper, the Sunday Times, sent one of its journalists, Stephen Bleach, to investigate Gosforth Hall Hotel, a small hotel in Cumbria in the north of England. People say that the hotel has the ghost of a seventeenh century Catholic priest. The ghost always appears in Room 11.
Stephen's job was to spend the night alone in Room 11. He couldn't phone or speak to anybody. Before he went to the hotel, Stephen said "I feel a bit nervous, but I don't believe in ghosts."
