工黨提出新教育政綱
澳大利亞總理吉拉德在她首度對達爾文的訪問中，將焦點再度集中在了教育之上。
吉拉德証實如果工黨當選的話，她的政府將會繼續為學校提供未來三年的牧師服務撥款，並將這一服務擴展到另外1000所學校。
吉拉德還在達爾文宣布，與8個全國體育組織合作，以幫助改善學校的出勤率，特別是土著社區孩子的出勤率。
這個名為“不上學，沒得玩兒”的項目完全是自願參與的，但是吉拉德總理認為這會帶來學生出勤率方面的轉變。
