Hi my name is Mike, and I'm right now I'm working toward becoming more fluent in Japanese so I can be more of a help to BEST club and for my work in the Navigators.

I would like to communicate more deeply with my friends and neighbors in Japan, and understand what they think and feel. I think that in order to love people, you must understand what they are saying.
私は友だちや近所の人たちともっと深い会話をしたり、彼らが何を考え、感じているかを理解したいです。人を愛するためには、彼らが言うことを理解しなければならないと思います。
In order to meet my goal I am studying Japanese everyday, and I am trying to use Japanese as much as possible. I'm trying to read books in Japanese and am meeting with a tutor weekly.
目標を達成するために、私は毎日日本語を勉強し、できるだけ日本語を使うようにしています。日本語で書かれた本を読むようにしたり、毎週 チューターにも指導してもらうようにしています。
There are many challenges. It has hard to balance my work, my family, and my studies. But I do believe that my goal is worth it. Sometimes, it feels like I am not progressing toward my goal.
周りの人がいろいろ言ってきて、仕事と家庭と勉強のバランスを取るのが難しいです。最後には絶対報われるって信じていますけど。時々日本語の習得がぜんぜん進歩してない気がします。
Often, when I am in group with other Japanese speaking quickly, I can't understand anything. Also, I often am not able read even though I have been studying kanji.

I am sometimes anxious about failing, but I know that no matter what, my life will be better because now I can communicate a little more with my friends.
たまに将来が不安になるけど、前より友達と話せるようになったから、何があってもきっと私の未来は良くなっていくと思う。
