Yeah! Uh, yeah, c'mon. The Children's March. Alright, yeah, c'mon, let's go!
And they just kept marching back, nobody could shut them down (shut 'em down), nobody (na), nobody (na), nobody (na). And their pain just pushed up fine, nobody could stop them now (stop them now), nobody (na), nobody (na), nobody (na).
(0:32) - Birmingham, Alabama 1963, Kelly Ingram Park, that was the place to be. People fighting for their freedom and equality, the kids could be the ones to help set them free. The plan was to get arrested and fill up the jail - it seemed so perfect, no way, it couldn't fail. Dozens of people volunteered, yeah they're all kids. Their parents wouldn't let them go, they all forbid.
(0:54) - Cause over the radio, just to get it started, when the clock hit 11, they all departed. The kids all knew, they did their research; they all left school and then they met up at a church. The church was on the corner of 16th street, by Kelly Ingram Park where they come soon to meet Bull Connor and his troops that would take them away, but they kept on fighting for a couple more days. C'mon!

Yeah. Uh, yeah, c'mon [come on]. The Children's March. Alright, yeah, c'mon [come on], let's go.
And they just kept marching back, nobody could shut them down, nobody, nobody, nobody. And they're (...) just to survive, nobody could stop them now, nobody, nobody, nobody.

Now day one passed and now we['re] on to day two. Words can't even explain the pain we['ve] been through. And it's obvious that it ain't right, trying to comfort little ones holding my hand tight. 'Cus [because] as the day goes by it gets a little harder. No fire in sight but we['re] getting sprayed by water, taken away with buses and no they ain't the charter, the type you take to go to school to get a little smarter.
'Cus [because] we'll fight back 'til [until] they realize, that we are the survivor(s), rise today, ride away, away, away. A message across the nation, to end this segregation...make it fade away.
And they just kept marching back, nobody could shut them down, nobody, nobody, nobody. And they're (...) just to survive, nobody could stop them now, nobody, nobody, nobody.
