Hello, I’m David Sibbet, the President of The Grove Consultants International, and for 35 years I’ve been going all over the world with these magic markers visualizing meetings and helping run strategy sessions and organization chain sessions and all kinds of meetings where people are trying to make change. And I’m working right now on a book on “Visual Meetings” that is going to share with all people who don’t run meetings professionally all the different ways that you can use visuals to just completely turn on the meeting and make it creative and innovative and begin to work more like designers and architects have always worked; playing with ideas and co-creating what's possible.
(0:43) We will look at the whole cycle, learn the groups, go through what's visualized here and we'll look at how visuals and imagery and visual language help people imagine what the purposes are of meetings, how to frame what you’re doing, how it is used, to simple metaphors, can get people oriented in the right direction.
(01:01) We'll then look at how the process of interactive recording in visualizing actually engages people fully, because when people talk, they'll listen too, and then they can see what it is that's written, they immediately get involved in a higher level participation than you would have in almost any other medium.
(1:20) And there are a lot of simple trick to doing this: using sticky notes, using movable media and now there’s a lot of software and electronic tools that allow everybody to, kind of, contribute in ideas and work together. We'll then look at how visual thinking itself allows you to start thinking in truly big picture-kind-of-ways.
(01:38) And (uh) we've been... I've been pioneer the use of big maps to look at (kind of) environmental situations, what's the context of (the) situation, where do you wanna go, what's your vision, what kind of action do you need to go there and what's the relationship between these things.
(01:53) This kind of thinking where you compare and contrast things that are out on a big display is actually a key to what people call systems thinking.
(02:01) And it couldn´t be more needed in our times but then to have groups be able to deal with the challenges in a comprehensive kind of way and deal with complexity easily.
(02:11) Finally people want to enact what they... what they come up with in their plans and visualization is really helpful, not only in sharing what your action plans are, but in tracking progress, providing road maps, providing check off points, and helping people remember what they do in meetings.
(02:27) - Now with digital cameras and other things, it´s quite possible to have all this kind of visual material online as well as in meetings.
(02:35) - So I hope you come to the TEDx conference. We’re going to be having a lot of fun and perhaps you can get in on this visual revolution which is happening.
Friend, the text below is what is what i could get from this video. Does anyone could help me to fill the gap?
