[announcer] Power: 105.1
[host 1] Well, where did the beef ever come from for you and Nicki Minaj? It seems like you both just don't get along she kinda idolized you when she first came out with, you know, a lot of stuff she did whether it was with her mixtapes, whether it was the same posters, the same poses-
[host 2] Every female rapper coming up under Kim idolized Kim, absolutely.
[host 1] Right, so what happened? What was the left turn there? Like was-
[Kim] Can I ask you a question? Can I ask you a question? Okay. How come when I come up here they want to ask me these questions, but they don't never ask her?
[host 1] Oh, we definitely do!
[Kim] No, you didn't. No.
[host 2] We absolutely did!
[Kim] Let me tell you something, I did 106-
[host 1] You know what she said? She said she didn't know. And Nicki-
[Kim] Right, and she-
[host 1] -and she idolized you-
[Kim] -and she had the way of trying to avoid the situation and y'all let her do it, okay.
[host 1] Never.
[Kim] How y'all do. But look, the last time y'all asked her was probably when it was still very fresh.
[host 1] No, we - her album came out last month, she did-
[host 2] -a month ago.
[Kim] But yeah, no, you were on her album so you've been [unintelligible] so, whatever-
[woman offscreen] He's a buyer. He's a buyer.
[Host 2] No, no, no, no, no, listen-
[Kim] It's okay! Yeah, I know!
[Host 2] Nicki's my homie, but this is where my issue with Kim stems from, it's...Kim's an OG, and it seemed when you were coming at Nicki you were just being bitter-
[Kim] But that is just wrong.
[Host 2] You seem like you act like the old...you know, like Player's Club is...Tricky Trick-
[Kim] -That is wrong, let me tell you why you're wrong, and let me tell you why you're DEAD wrong, because it's deeper than that. Me and Slim were friends for four years, and we decided that we were gonna go into business together. A'ight? And I was over there, at Cash Money, I was getting ready to be partners with them. While I was over there, we were working...a lot. Like- I was in...Miami and he put me in the studio and I would be in New York and he'd be working- we'd constantly be talking. Baby said to me, "Hey, I want you to be on my album," whatever, whatever, and...you know, he sent this song over, it was [unintelligible], and it had a hook on it, so I sent it back to him quick. They had the record for awhile and me and Slim were talking, constantly, constantly talking, and so I said- I said to Slim, when I went back to Miami, and I'm not stupid. I said, "Listen, we're about to be like...the Mafia family, right? It's like, I'm the Gambinos, like, you have the family inside of the family? I Would be the gambino, they would be the whatever, whatever. We're all gonna be family, so go ahead. Put whoever you want on the record. 'Cause I already knew, I already knew...but I said...this record gotta be big because it would be GOOD for music right now, you know, it's good for hip-hop.

by zules 2:32 - 3:51

[KIM] When I saw baby, he's like, "Oh baby-girl, we're gonna make it big! We gonna do a video. We gonna do this; we gonna do that. We gonna make it big!" Everybody's gonna go, "They put the record out." I guess... they didn't like the response. And when... they saw the response, they pulled it. They just pulled the record off. Pulled it back. Never put it on his album. Nothing. Then, I'm l--it's like I'm not even hearing from them. And, it's like, "Wow! ...Wow." You know what I mean? And if you listen to that song, the way I did my vocals... hers were different from how I did my vocals at that time. Shortly after that, she started releasing all these records. Y--doing her vocals the way I did my vocals. Now... okay, whatever. You know what I mean? But--you have to look back. I--my fans may not like when I do a certain type of music, but was a sound that I was getting ready to start. And I was starting this sound. A long time ago! And if he tell you that this is not true, he's lying. But I played a record for Slim called 'Automatic.' It's a... (San Tropez??) dance type of--type of record. It's three years ago I played him this record. On her new album, she has a song called 'Automatic,' and the song is so similar... to the song that I played for Slim.

by Nofoofro 3:51 - 6:28

[Kim] The whole sound that I brought to the table. 'Cuz when Slim was like, "What you working on, let me see, you know, hear where you goin' with it," she was still doing whatever she was doing when she first came out, the way she was rapping. I brought a whole new sound... Next thing you know, two, three years later, you know, now that she's, you know, movin' and movin' in the game or whatever... this is the whole new sound! Whether my fans would have liked that sound or not, it was my sound. I brought that to the table. Sh-The problem with her is... she was very catty with it. I never had a problem with her! I was always nice with her, always! She was a very obnoxious person, but I was always nice with her. From the time I saw her in that dressing room... The story she told I don't even know what the heck she was talking about! Like that doesn't even... That's not even how it happened. But, from the moment that I met her I was always cool with her. But after that it almost seems like, when they realized "Okay, we need Kim and we wanna study her swag." That's what it kind felt like, because I was around for a long time and they like "Okay let's study her swag" and you know wh- And I think they wanted to get that record just to state (?) that I was okay with what was going on, you understand what I'm saying? For me, it was a break back into rotation... into, you know, if that woulda been a big video and a big event record it would been good for both of us, but I personally think that they didn't want me to stand beside her, which is stupid. So stupid.

[Host 2] But it's not like... it's not like a Young Money Cash Money thing. Like, they did that, not necessarily Nicki.

[Kim] No... But you gotta understand something. She was always throwing shots.

[Kim and Host 2 are talking at the same time]

[Kim] I don't know what you're talking about. You need to go... You need... cuz' you're not trying to do...

[Host 2] I never heard that. I used to hear her paying homage, like she said, she used to say ([Kim] Sweetie) "I love Kim, I love Roxy (?)

[Kim] You're not trying to do your homework, that's why. Booboo, you gotta do your homework. If you go on all of those...si-... those little... the come-up (?) DVDs, even with Fendi... Fendi would even say it "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah you know, 'cuz, you know, she was just a real cocky type of girl, or whatever. She just... She always wanted to be like you. She always wanted to be you..." and she would say "Imma take her spot." I... Lemme tell you something, how I know , Full-Force had her... Full-Force and Son (?) had her first. Do you know that? Oh, yeah. They had her first. When I did the song on my album... "You can't f*** with queen bee", you know that song? I don't know if you know it, but, anyway, when I did that song on my album, that's Full-Force singing that song. That- they did that song. She was in the studio then. And they said she was basically hating on me then, but lovin' me at the same time.

by som3girl 6:28 - 7:33

[Kim] Ok, fine. Now after that whole cash money situation with the song, we're at Justin's birthday party. Perfect timing to come up and say, "Hey, you know we did the song together, we--, wh- wh- wh-." Nothing. And she looked at me and rolled her eyes, and I was like, "really?" Every single record she's made was coming at me. I don't care what you said, or you said, or you said, I don't care what nobody say. Everybody who's smart with a brain, everybody who knows music knows damn well in that Puffy record she was coming at me. I didn't say nothing about this chick. I didn't say nothing about this chick at the time. With all-- she was coming at me in the Puffy record, she was coming at me in all, all these records that she was doing -- the J and Kanye records. I, I didn't say nothing. So what is all--I don't understand where all this is coming

[host] How come when male rappers like get on records and you know they talk cocky and aggressive, nobody ever says it targeted towards anybody, but when a female does it, it's either, "Oh they gotta be going at Kim," or if you do it, "Oh she gotta be going at Nicki". Why can't you all just be rapping?

by eternica 7:33 - 8:24

[Kim] but...
[Host] Why does it have to be aimed towards somebody? Maybe it's just rap.
[Kim] It does happen like that in [] though. What are you talkin' about?
[Others] It happens - it happens with male too... (etc)
[Kim]Yes it does. It happens with males. You wanna know the difference with males? They're not like her. She wanted to be the only female out there, so when Baby and them said, we're not f'n/yet(?) through with this chick cus' you can't stand next to her, she loved it because she didn't want to stand next to me.
[Host 2] I think it's already...
[Kim] She wanted to be out there by herself. And then (the thing is)?
[Host 2] I think () she puts women against each other all the time, though.
[Kim] Yea, they do! That's exactly what happened, and my thing is you have to be smart enough to say: yo - I 'unno what they talkin' about, but you ma bitch! Don't start comin' at me in records - talkin' to me just - just talkin' about me disrespectful. You know what I'm saying? Indirectly. Don't do that. Don't do that. At the end of the day, she should've just said. I don't care - you my bitch - yo, I wanna still do other things with you. Let's just do it and forget about what this -

by Wataru 8:24 - 9:45

[Kim] eh, because at the end of the day-

[Female Host] I think for women it's harder because they do make it seem like there's only one woman that could be the female rapper at the time.

[Male Host] That's wack though.

[Female Host] It's always me against you. But that's the way the industry is!

[Male Host] No it's not. You had Latifah. You had MC Lyte at one point. *inaudible* You had Foxy.

[Kim] And when I was out you had me, you had Eve, you had Foxy 'cause you know why? We all understood the essence of music, and how it's supposed to go. They knew what she was. I'm not sayin' that she's not-. I'm not saying she's a horrible artist but, but I definitely think she's overrated, 'cause she's not a horrible artist to me. I don't think she's a horrible artist at all. I know artists that are wwwhhbssch! But, the things is is that, they, this is what I feel. I was so looking forward to that video happening, 'cause I thought that would have been so great. You know what I mean? It would have been great. Like, I I love when women wanna be like me. I think that is the biggest flattery. I mean, who does that?

[Male Host] You're an OG, of course you're gonna have influence.

[Kim] Uh, well, at the end of the day, I am just who I am. You know what I mean? So, I think whether I was in the industry rappin' or not, maybe somebody could be attracted to my style. Maybe somebody could just be attracted to the way I move. Maybe somebody could be attracted to the way I talk. At the end of the day, it's an attraction. You know what I mean? And don't downplay it. If you go back, and you

by browncm 9:45 - 13:09

[Kim] she's asked all these times. You need to do your homework cuz I don't know what you sayin.

[Charlemagne] I've heard her... Envy have you heard Nicki pay homage to Kim?

[DJ Envy] Yeah she definitely paid homage to ??? ...

[Kim] No. Not. No, Envy.

[DJ Envy] ... but if she take a shot, that might be something personal that I don't know about, but I heard her pay homage before because she said she looked up to you even when she did that fold, that that mixtape cover when she did the same position as you.

[Kim] (while Envy speaks) No, Envy. Envy, you... no. Mmm no. Ah ah. Mmm.

[Angela] But this sounds like something...

[Kim] Understand something. If somebody says "I love you but I hate you", that's not homage.

[Charlemagne] We don't hear it.

[Kim] At the same time... because y'all don't wanna hear it.

[Charlemagne] I mean...

[Kim] You don't wanna hear it.

[Charlemagne] ... if I'm not...

[Kim] If you don't wanna hear it you're not gonna hear it.

[Charlemagne] ... if I hear somebody say I love Kim and I hear her going at somebody on a record, I'm not gonna think she's going at you.

[Kim & Charlemagne]
--No but you... if you, if you... but then you say, but then you hear somebody say screw this person, screw that, screw that, and that same person that you/that they say they love.
--In personal conversation she's never told me that.

[Charlemagne] Well she said that after you decapitated her on her mixtape cover.

[Kim] No it was not after. This was really before.

[Angela] Allright, listen. We can't argue because Lil Kim has her feeling on what she's heard and what she knows...

[Kim] But it's fact. It's not, it's not.

[Charlemagne] I would like to ?? have a conversation. They go from New York...

[Kim] We're not having a conversation, but it's fact. It's fact.

[Angela] And there might be things that we as an audience don't know because we don't pick up on it.

[Kim] But because you're not... and you're not li-- you're not looking for it.

[DJ Envy] ?? But that's not what ?? All right let's fast forward.
[Charlemagne] So you were never, there was never squash, ever?

[Kim] No, no. hold on. Let's stay level. Let's stay still. Let me tell you why we need to stay still. Cuz I'm about to take y'all hip-hop cards if y'all don't do y'all homework. Go do your homework. It's out there. I'm not, this ain't nothin I'm makin up. You could, go do your homework. It's out there.

[DJ Envy] Now let's fast forward. Music. When are we getting a Kim single?

[Charlemagne] Hold on, we got one more chick. Now, you know what, there was a chick going at you on twitter crazy, Azealia Banks. I've only heard one record from her. What? What?

[Envy] All right, go ahead.

[Charlemagne] I'm just asking.

[Angela] No, it started off with her excited to talk to Lil Kim and do her song...

[Charlemagne] No she was going at.. she was slandering Kim.

[Angela] No, this is how it started. She said Lil Kim ?? said she was gonna do a record with her. She was excited about that. And then she said she sent the song to Lil Kim, but she tried to write her verse for her, and they sent it back and said, well Lil Kim writes her own stuff. She don't need you to write the verse. Right? That's what happened on Twitter, and that's when she started going in on you.

[Kim] Man, I never met this girl a day in my life. I never talked to this chick, I never-- she don't know what I sound like, I don't know what she sound like on the phone, but let me tell you... I think it's in chick's contracts when they come out, go at, you gotta go at Lil Kim.

[DJ Envy] Is that the first thing you sign?

[Kim] That is in the contract.

[DJ Envy] You get your, you get 20,000 dollars and then you gotta go at Kim?

[Kim] That's it. It's in there.

[DJ Envy] Now let's talk about music. When are we gonna get a single and when are we gonna get Kim back? When are we gonna do an album?

[Kim] We gon' get it, and we gon' get it at the right time. God do everything in the, at the right time.

[Angela] So right now, you're putting out singles independently, and then I know you said that you have labels negotiating and fighting.

[Kim] It's gotta be right. It's gotta be right. I've, I've gone through so many negotiation meetings.

[Angela] Now what's you ideal place?

[Kim] It's just that, you know, at this point... and it's not really about the major money to me because I, I know how to do those type of deals where, you know, my, my royalties would, you know, astronomical. My, my, you know, the, the back end would be great for me. It's just that there's certain things that me as an artist now, that I just
can't, you know, I can't settle because at the end of the day, I make a lot of the majority of my money on television. Like that's a great, that's a big field for me, you know, television and endorsements and stuff like that, and you know a lot of people want a big part of that because they know that's a big part of me. And I'm like, listen, this is about music. We're not gonna, you know what I mean, so... it just had to...

by browncm 13:09 - 14:47

[DJ Envy] We look forward to that. Kim gotta go.

[Charlemagne] I know that, but you know I would love to see Kim and Nicki, you know, sit down and hash it out. Forget all the middlemen. Forget Young Money Cash Money.

[Kim] But why? It's not gonna be hashed out.

[Charlemagne] It could be.

[Kim] It's not gonna happen. That... you, you you...

[Charlemagne] Y'all both from New York.

[Kim] No, it's not gonna happen.

[Charlemagne] You know... females...

[Angela] Listen, sometimes people just don't like each other.

[Kim] It's not gonna happen, and for whatever reason...

[Charlemagne] Listen I'm a Cancer like Kim's a Cancer, so I understand...

[Kim] Right, so if you a Cancer like me, then you should know something's not right.

[Charlemagne] I get it.

[Kim] No, you don't get it. Cuz you still sayin that she paid homage and that she was respectful...

[Charlemagne] She definitely did.

[Kim] No, she wasn't. You wanna say that, but you, that's not true. It's not true.

[Charlemagne] You are a true Cancer.

[Kim] Before she even... cuz I'm, you know I'm right. You know I'm right. You don't wanna see it cuz you've already built this relationship with her, and y'all have whatever y'all have-- I don't give a damn.

[Charlemagne] That's my homie, no doubt.

[Kim] Right. Whatever.

[Charlemagne] But at the end of the day you still the OG and I would love to see ?? embrace?? generation.

[Kim] Fuck the OG. Fuck all that. Fuck the OG. Fuck all that. Fuck all that. Cuz that has nothing to do with it when it comes to respect, and when it comes to matter of fact, because at the end of the day it is what it is. When a chick... Let me tell you something, I'ma leave on this note. You will see. Everything in the dark comes to the light. That's all I gotta say.

[DJ Envy] And don't forget tomorrow, Lil Kim is performing in the Bronx.

[Kim] The Bronx, Paradise Theatre. Paradise Theatre, ya know what I'm sayin? Hosted by Drita from Mobster Wives.

[Angela] When are you performing in Brooklyn, too? We gotta do a, we gotta do a...

[DJ Envy] And call in to 105 right now. We got a pair of tickets. 805-85105-1. If you wanna hang out with Lil Kim in the Bronx tomorrow, Paradise Theatre in the Bronx, caller 105 is going to see Lil Kim. We appreciate you hangin with us.

[Kim] Yes. Stop hatin on Lil Kim. That's the, that's the, that's the marquee for today - no hatin on Lil Kim, and you know what I'm sayin, just, just, just watch.

by browncm 14:47 - 16:08

[Angela] You feel some respect now, Charlemagne?

[Charlemagne] What you mean?

[Angela] She was sayin stop hatin on little Kim.

[Charlemagne] I've never hated on Lil Kim.

[Kim] Yeah you did. Yeah you did.

[Charlemagne] I give honest opinions, and my opinions come from...

[Kim] They're not honest, though, Charlemagne. It's not.

[Charlemagne] No, it's my, it's my honest opinions come from like when I said the thing with Nicki, you was coming off old and disgruntled. That's how you was sounding.

[Kim] Okay, well, okay, but you know what? Let me tell you something, right? You know the saying never judge a book by it's cover...

[Charlemagne] No doubt.

[Kim] ... until you read it?

[Charlemagne] Absolutely.

[Kim] You didn't read the book. Because if you read the book, you would have known the history about me being over here at Cash Money, and all-- you know, doing the whole situation. It's deeper than that. And then, no one can sit here and say... everyone-- it's there. There's a, there's a video... just, just go on there. There's a video that my fans made that's called Play Time is over.

[Angela] I saw that.

[Kim] Go watch it. Go watch it.

[Charlemagne] And I will say this. I respect Kim for coming up here cuz I have slandered Kim relentlessly...

[Angela] And I really did not think Kim was gonna come up here.

[Charlemagne] And if Kim can come up here, any artist can come up here.

[DJ Envy] I told you Kim was coming.

{Kim] Yeah, it don't bother me. You know why? Cuz I'm comfortable in my skin. ???

[Angela] You're from Brooklyn. You're from Brooklyn.

[Charlemagne] And you know... and, and, and, and not, and ???, that picture they put out of you was definitely photo shopped because you didn't look like, you don't look like that now.

[Kim] Look like what?

[Charlemagne] They put out a picture of you, and you looked like Jeremy Lin. You don't look like Jeremy Lin in person.

[Kim] Jeremy Lin?

[Charlemagne] That's how the looked. Remember the picture y'all thought, the picture...

[DJ Envy] Oh that was the, uh the BET thing.

[Kim] Well everybody looks different in their pictures.

[Charlemagne] No, no, no, somebody photo-- somebody actually did photoshop it. They tried to make you look crazy.

[Kim] Oh.

[DJ Envy] Well, it's the Breakfast Club on Pow 105 1. Lil Kim.
