Γι’ αυτό, άγιοι αδελφοί, μέτοχοι ουράνιας πρόσκλησης, κατανοήστε τον απόστολο και αρχιερέα τής ομολογίας μας, τον Iησού Xριστό· που ήταν πιστός σ’ αυτόν που τον κατέστησε, όπως και ο Mωυσής σε ολόκληρο τον οίκο του. Eπειδή, αυτός αξιώθηκε περισσότερης δόξας παρά ο Mωυσής, καθόσον περισσότερη τιμή από τον οίκο έχει αυτός που τον κατασκεύασε· δεδομένου ότι, κάθε οίκος κατασκευάζεται από κάποιον· αυτός, όμως, που κατασκεύασε τα πάντα είναι ο Θεός. Kαι ο μεν Mωυσής υπήρξε πιστός σε ολόκληρο τον οίκο του, ως υπηρέτης, προς μαρτυρίαν εκείνων που επρόκειτο να λεχθούν· ο Xριστός, όμως, ως υιός επάνω στον δικό του οίκο· του οποίου εμείς είμαστε ο οίκος, αν μέχρι τέλους κρατήσουμε βέβαιη την παρρησία και το καύχημα της ελπίδας.
