Tourism Queensland is advertising for an island caretaker: someone who takes care of an island protecting wildlife. The job is located in Queensland, Australia.
The job is on Hamilton Island. It is a six-month contract, and the salary is AUSD 150,000. /
The employee will spend 6 months on the island, and he will earn AUD 150,000.
He will live / stay in a beautiful luxury house (a 4 or 5 million house).
The employee will have to travel throughout the islands of the Great Barrier Reef and he'll have to promote tourism through a video blog. He will have to explore the islands and report back. He will have to feed the fish, clean the pool, and collect the mail arriving by plane. He will be able to go scuba diving, snorkeling and spend time on 25 other islands.

The first Thanksgiving took place in the 1600s when Native Americans and pilgrims had / shared a harvest feast.
Then in 1863, during the Civil War, President Lincoln declared it a national holiday. / Thanksgiving became a national holiday thanks to President Lincoln.
During the Macy's parade, people can see floats, balloons, and marching bands in New York. It started in 1924 and real animals from the Central Park Zoo were shown.
Since 1927, animal balloons have been used. The first balloon character was Felix the Cat.
Football tradition dates back to 1934 when the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears played for the first time. The Lions lost but since 1934 the tradition has continued.
Every year, a turkey is pardoned by the President. President Lincoln started the tradition, and it became official in 1989 by George H. W. Bush. The turkey is sent to a petting zoo or back to their owner.

A Thanksgiving meal is composed of a roasted turkey with gravy and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and vegetables (among them corn and green beans), dressing / stuffing and pumpkin pies, apple pies and pecan pies as dessert.
