Sharks are a type of fish with a full cartilaginous skeleton and a highly streamlined body. The earliest known sharks date from more than 420 million years ago.
Since that time, sharks have diversified into 440 species, ranging in size from the small dwarf lanternshark, Etmopterus perryi, a deep sea species of only 17 centimetres in length, to the whale shark, Rhincodon typus, the largest fish, which reaches approximately 12 metres and which feeds only on plankton, squid, and small fish by filter feeding. Sharks are found in all seas and are common down to depths of 2,000 metres. They generally do not live in freshwater, with a few exceptions such as the bull shark and the river shark which can live both in seawater and freshwater. They breathe through five to seven gill slits. Sharks have a covering of dermal denticles that protects their skin from damage and parasites, and improves their fluid dynamics so the shark can move faster. They have several sets of replaceable teeth.
Well-known species such as the great white shark, tiger shark, blue shark, mako shark, and the hammerhead are apex predators, at the top of the underwater food chain. Their extraordinary skills as predators fascinate and frighten humans, even as their survival is under serious threat from fishing and other human activities.

Whale is the common name for various marine mammals of the order Cetacea. The term whale sometimes refers to all cetaceans, but more often it excludes dolphins and porpoises, which belong to suborder Odontoceti (toothed whales). This suborder also includes the sperm whale,killer whale, pilot whale, and beluga whale. The other Cetacean suborder Mysticeti (baleen whales), are filter feeders that eat small organisms caught by straining seawater through a comblike structure found in the mouth called baleen. This suborder includes the blue whale, the humpback whale, the bowhead whale and the minke whale. All Cetacea have forelimbs modified as fins, a tail with horizontal flukes, and nasal openings (blowholes) on top of the head.
Whales range in size from the blue whale, the largest animal known to have ever existed at 35 m and 136 tonnes, to various pygmy species, such as the pygmy sperm whale at 3.5 m.
Whales collectively inhabit all the world's oceans and number in the millions, with annual population growth rate estimates for various species ranging from 3-13%. For centuries, whales have been hunted for meat and as a source of raw materials. By the middle of the 20th century, however, industrial whaling had left many species seriously endangered, leading to the end of whaling in all but a few countries.

The tiger, a member of the Felidae family, is the largest of the four "big cats" in the genus Panthera. The tiger is native to much of eastern and southern Asia, and is an apex predator and an obligate carnivore. The larger tiger subspecies are comparable in size to the biggest extinct felids, reaching up to 3.3 metres in total length, weighing up to 300 kilograms, and having canines up to 4 inches long, Aside from their great bulk and power, their most recognisable feature is a pattern of dark vertical stripes that overlays near-white to reddish-orange fur, with lighter underparts. The most numerous tiger subspecies is the Bengal tiger, while the largest is the Siberian tiger.
Tigers have a lifespan of 10–15 years in the wild, but can live longer than 20 years in captivity. They are highly adaptable and range from the Siberian taiga to open grasslands and tropical mangrove swamps.
They are territorial and generally solitary animals, often requiring large contiguous areas of habitat that support their prey demands. This, coupled with the fact that they are indigenous to some of the more densely populated places on earth, has caused significant conflicts with humans. Three of the nine subspecies of modern tiger have gone extinct, and the remaining six are classified as endangered, some critically so. The primary direct causes arehabitat destruction, fragmentation, and hunting.
Historically, tigers have existed from Mesopotamia and the Caucasus throughout most of South and East Asia. Today, the range of the species is radically reduced. All surviving species are under formal protection, yet poaching, habitat destruction, and inbreeding depression continue to threaten the tigers.
Tigers are among the most recognisable and popular of the world's charismatic megafauna. They have featured prominently in ancient mythology andfolklore, and continue to be depicted in modern films and literature. Tigers appear on many flags and coats of arms, as mascots for sporting teams, and as the national animal of several Asian nations, including India.

The lion is one of the four big cats in the genus Panthera, and a member of the family Felidae. With some males exceeding 250 kg in weight, it is the second-largest living cat after the tiger. Wild lions currently exist in Sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia with an endangeredremnant population in Gir Forest National Park in India, having disappeared from North Africa and Southwest Asia in historic times. Until the late Pleistocene, about 10,000 years ago, the lion was the most widespread large land mammal after humans. They were found in most of Africa, across Eurasia from western Europe to India, and in the Americas from the Yukon to Peru. The lion is a vulnerable species, having seen a possibly irreversible population decline of thirty to fifty percent over the past two decades in its African range. Lion populations are untenable outside designated reserves and national parks. Although the cause of the decline is not fully understood, habitat loss and conflicts with humans are currently the greatest causes of concern.
Lions live for ten to fourteen years in the wild, while in captivity they can live longer than twenty years. In the wild, males seldom live longer than ten years, as injuries sustained from continual fighting with rival males greatly reduce their longevity.They typically inhabit savanna and grassland, although they may take to bush and forest. Lions are unusually social compared to other cats. A pride of lions consists of related females and offspring and a small number of adult males. Groups of female lions typically hunt together, preying mostly on large ungulates. Lions are apex and keystone predators, although they scavenge as opportunity allows. While lions do not typically hunt humans, some have been known to do so.
Highly distinctive, the male lion is easily recognized by its mane, and its face is one of the most widely recognized animal symbols in human culture. Depictions have existed from the Upper Paleolithic period, with carvings and paintings from the Lascaux and Chauvet Caves, through virtually all ancient and medieval cultures where they once occurred. It has been extensively depicted in sculptures, in paintings, on national flags, and in contemporary films and literature. Lions have been kept in menageries since Roman Empire and have been a key species sought for exhibition in zoos the world over since the late eighteenth century. Zoos are cooperating worldwide in breeding programs for the endangered Asiatic subspecies.

On the 24th February 1815, the ship, Pharaon, arrived at the port of Marseille. A large crowd was standing on the quay. The people had come down to the harbour to greet the ship. It was always exciting when a ship arrived in Marseille. And this ship had been built in the city, and the ship's owner lived there. The owner of the Pharaon was Monsieur Morrel. He did not wait for his ship to reach the harbour. He immediately jumped into a longboat and rowed towards the Pharaon.
A young man was standing on the deck of the Pharaon. When he saw Monsieur Morrel, he went to the starboard side of the ship. The young man was the first officer of the Pharaon. He was tall, between eighteen and twenty years old, and had thick black hair. His bright, dark eyes were calm and intelligent.
The young man turned round and gave an order to the crew. The sailors ran quickly to their places and waited. Some men stood on the decks. Other men climbed up the tall masts.
"Edmond, Edmond Dantès!",shouted Morrel from the longboat. Where is the captain? What's happened to Captain Leclère?
"Something very sad, sir", replied the first officer. When we were near Civita Vecchia we lost our brave captain."

For years and years I have seen that learning English as a foreign language, which is one of the modern living musts, is a source of inevitable disappointment, perplexing and frustration. You should involve yourself to a great deal of tiring work. You have to memorize thousands of vocabularies and hundreds of expressions and phrases and when you complete them, you just find yourself in a great need to repeat the whole process again and again for simply you are a human and you forget some significant part, not saying all, of the learning material.

Worse still, you commit yourself to learning things that you don't use in your daily life. You sometimes feel as if you deal with ghosts because you see them but you hear no voices . You are not so sure that they really exist.

What makes the matter unbearable that you often learn from a teacher who has been taught using the same method. And that's why you will find them obliged to deliver you your share of pain. They keep saying loudly, “No pain no gain”, while you feel the pain, you don't see the gain or see that it doesn't deserve all that torture.

We deal with English only to get qualifications therefore we are not so interested in mastering it except when we try to get a job, a visa or admittance in a university.

That was the case until recently when the international network provided its contribution and helped the world to become the global village, we finally had the precious opportunity to exposure to significant deal of English audio and text files which helped us a lot to listen to English as it is uttered by native speakers.

One of the most remarkable examples of this Cultural Revolution is Lingq system. You have an integrated library with a various topics and diverse lessons graded from the beginner's level to the advanced one. You can read and listen to a lesson at the same time. This approach has a great effect on your reading speed which is said to be among the most important factors in leaning generally and learning a language in particular. It also helps you to enhance your yield of vocabularies and be more confident. The air in the site is so relaxing but at the same time you feel the hard work .It is not an easy equation to solve. I think the people there know what they are doing. While they are so professional, they haven't lost the amateur spirit yet.
