Dolphin copulation happens belly to belly; though many species engage in lengthy foreplay, the actual act is usually brief, but may be repeated several times within a short timespan. The gestation period varies with species; for the small Tucuxi dolphin, this period is around 11 to 12 months, while for the orca, the gestation period is around 17 months. They usually become sexually active at a young age, even before reaching sexual maturity. The age of sexual maturity varies by species and gender.
Dolphins are known to have sex for reasons other than reproduction, sometimes also engaging in homosexual behavior. Various species sometimes engage in sexual behavior including copulation with other dolphin species. Sexual encounters may be violent, with male dolphins sometimes showing aggressive behavior towards both females and other males. Occasionally, dolphins behave sexually towards other animals, including humans.

Dolphins, along with whales and porpoises, are descendants of terrestrial mammals, most likely of the Artiodactyl order. The ancestors of the modern day dolphins entered the water roughly fifty million years ago, in the Eocene epoch.
Hind limb buds are apparent on an embryo of a spotted dolphin in the fifth week of development as small bumps (hind limb buds) near the base of the tail. The pin is approximately 2.5 cm long.
Modern dolphin skeletons have two small, rod-shaped pelvic bones thought to be vestigial hind limbs. In October 2006, an unusual bottlenose dolphin was captured in Japan; it had small fins on each side of its genital slit, which scientists believe to be a more pronounced development of these vestigial hind limbs.

Dolphins are marine mammals that are closely related to whales and porpoises. There are almost forty species of dolphin in seventeen genera. They vary in size from 1.2 m and 40 kg (Maui's dolphin), up to 9.5 m and 10 tonnes (the orca or killer whale). They are found worldwide, mostly in the shallower seas of the continental shelves, and are carnivores, mostly eating fish and squid. The family Delphinidae is the largest in the Cetacean order, and evolved relatively recently, about ten million years ago, during the Miocene. Dolphins are among the most intelligent animals, and their often friendly appearance and seemingly playful attitude have made them popular in human culture.

在韩国以前，“释迦诞生日”这本来不是公休日，基督教的节日“圣诞节”是公休日。因此佛家徒要求公平性，现在当成／变成／是／公休日。

I found this sentence 'How to Learn a Foreign Language' ? ' by chance, and I felt it was a sentence written just for me. 'How to Learn a Foreign Language ' ? Yes! It`s for me!
When I was a student, it was really poor conditoin for learning foreign language . There wasn`t any mp3, internet, video,...etc, there were only books..and after graduating, there was almost no opportunity to use English.

Then after , these days I found many friends are learning foreign languages on lang-8 site , I would also like to learn English from now on ^^.

우연히 '어떻게 외국어를 배워야 하는가 ?' 라는 이 문장을 발견했어요. 그런데 , 바로 나를 위한 글인것 같아요. 내가 학생이었을때는 (하하..너무 너무 오래전이라서^.^) )외국어를 배우는 환경이 참으로 열악했습니다. mp3,인터넷, 비디오...등등도 전혀 없었으며 오직 책만 있었습니다. 더군다나 졸업후에는 거의 영어를 써 볼 기회가 없었습니다. 어떻게 외국어를 배워야 하는가 ? 네, 바로 나를 위한 것이었습니다.

그리고 그뒤에 여기 lang-8 사이트에서 많은 친구들이 외국어들을 배우는 것을 알게 되었습니다.
나도 이제 영어를 배우고 싶습니다.
시험을 위해서 가 아니고, 즐거움을 위해서.
그건 분명히 나를 행복하게 하고 ,나에게 기쁨을 줄겁니다.

One night, not so long ago, just I was drifting off to sleep, the phone rang. It was my 19 year-old son, who is at university in Edinburgh, calling to say that he had broken up with his girlfriend at midnight and he had been wandering around the city ever since, not knowing what to do. I told him to catch the first train home. He arrived looking a wreck, but after a good sleep and some home cooking, he began to feel his old self again.
The next afternoon he told me what had happened. Then he told me more. And more. And ever more. A moment arrived when I couldn't help asking myself, should I be hearing all of this? It wasn't that I was shocked. He reminded me of myself in my own student years, but with one important difference- I would never ever have confided in my parents this way.
Girls I knew then were fairly open with their mothers, but none of my male contemporaries would ever have admitted asking their mothers for advice. Despite all our talk about how important it was for men to let down their defences and learn how to express their feelings, most of us still secretly felt that any man who depended on his mother too much was a bit of a mummy's boy.

"Ahh," the soldier said to himself rather loudly, "I do like a tasty stone soup. Of course, stone soup with cabbage -- that's hard to beat."

Soon a villager approached hesitantly, holding a cabbage he'd retrieved from its hiding place, and added it to the pot. "Capital!" cried the soldier. "You know, I once had stone soup with cabbage and a bit of salt beef as well, and it was fit for a king."

The village butcher managed to find some salt beef . . . and so it went, through potatoes, onions, carrots, mushrooms, and so on, until there was indeed a delicious meal for all. The villagers offered the soldier a great deal of money for the magic stone, but he refused to sell and traveled on the next day. The moral is that by working together, with everyone contributing what they can, a greater good is achieved.

By now, hearing the rumor of food, most of the villagers had come to the square or watched from their windows. As the soldier sniffed the "broth" and licked his lips in anticipation, hunger began to overcome their skepticism.

he oldest known chameleon fossil is that of Chamaeleo caroliquarti, found in Europe and dated to about 26 mya. However the chameleons are probably far older than that, perhaps sharing a common ancestor with iguanids and agamids more than 100 mya (agamids being more closely related).
