Note to recorder:

I'd like someone to talk about schools in NZ. The years you spend in each school (with the way you name them, ex : intermediate, high school etc), the name of classes (...th grade like in the US or year .... like in the UK?)
When school starts and finishes. Uniform or not. Until when is school compulsory...
Any ritual like the assembly in theUK or the pledge of Allegiance in the US.
Maximum 2min / 2.15.

Speed : not too fast, try to imagine you're talking to French ppl who've been learning EN for 3 years only.
Do not try to get rid of your accent (that's the point of the sequence!) but articulate.

Make a small introduction with your name, your school, your city and country.

Ex :
Hi, my name is ..., I'm from ...
In NZ pupils start school at the age of ... it is compulsory until ...
The first school is called ... it goes from Year .. to year .... Then you go to intermediate (goes from ... to ...)then ... till university.
In nz, we wear uniforms (or not?)
There are public and private schools (or state schools, just explain what it is called in NZ)
etc etc...

Hi, my name is Cat, I'm from the Waikato in New Zealand.
In NZ, pupils start school at the age of 5, and it is compulsory until 16.
The first school is called primary school, although, children can attend preschool or kindergarten before the age of 5. Primary school generally goes from Year 1 to year 6, however, small primary schools, such as in small towns, can go from year 1 to year 8. Intermediate school goes from year 7 to year 8, and high school, also known as college, goes from year 9 to year 13. University consists of a 3 year undergraduate program, with opportunity to continue studying in an honours program, masters program, or a PHD.
In NZ, it is less common to wear uniforms in public schools, but common in private schools.
There is a regional system that determines which school students can attend, However, there are more opportunities for wealthier families, such as private schools where the student can board.
