I think that no other letter is more important to me than one: the letter of admission for it has changed my life. The scene that happened on that day was left in my mind forever.
It was very hot on Aug 14th, 1997 when Gaokao (the examination to enter the Universities) had been over for 1 month and the whole family was looking forward to the result. At noon, my mother asked me to buy a packet of salt. When I was joyless, going down the stairs and murmuring, it seemed that someone had shouted my name downstairs. I found out it was Mrs. Liu, the English teacher of my senior school. She gave me a letter. Opening the letter and seeing the line ”I am very honored to inform you that you have been admitted to the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Tianjin”, I was so excited that I forgot to say thanks to her. Soon, the family was in a great amount of happiness. After supper, some neighbors came to congratulate us. After seeing my mother’s face with wrinkles, I made up my mind to study hard in order to pay back my parents.
Following the instructions on the letter, I came to Tianjin where I have worked since my graduation. Up until now, I have been in Tianjin for 18 years. I currently have a happy family with a loving husband and a pretty daughter, and have gotten a satisfactory job. The letter was the turning point of my life.
