Hi, we’re here today to talk about an amazing story called Harry Potter. There are 7 books written by the famous author, J.K Rowling, we’re going to talk a little bit about her. She was born in a little town in England : Yate, in 1965. Before she decided to be a writer, she began as an English teacher in a College, then she started to write about her impressions of the world and how she saw people around her. In 1990, when she was sitting in a train, an old woman with a trolley passed in front of her and it was her first idea for an original book. Harry Potter was born. It was a greatidea but nobody wanted to edit it because it was considered a children’s book. Some years passed and an editor finally bought it . People immediately loved it, and it was and is still today, the biggest success book ever. There’s a movie about her story too, called “La magie des mots”.As a huge success, it obviously had to be adapted into a movie. The first movie was produced by Chris Colombus. Let’s talk about the three principal characters, known as Hermione Granger, Ronald Weasley and of course, the most famous wizard, Harry Potter. Hermione is the smart one, she’s muggle-born but she’s also friendly and loyal. Ron is the sixth boy of the Weasley’s family, the popular red-haired ones. And Harry is the ChosenOne, he’s an orphan because his parents were killed by the greatest Dark Lord, known as Tom Riddle or Voldemort, but Harry is also brave and he is a parseltongue ( For those of you who don’t know, that’s the ability to speak with snakes). They’re all Gryffindors but there are three other houses : Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. In Hogwarts, your house is like your family or your team. Each house has its own dinner table, dormitory, symbol, colour, head, patron ghost, common room and Quidditch team.You can find the actors in some other movies, their name are : Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. Here are some of their movies : The woman in black, Cherrybomb or again The perks of being a wallflower.In London, there are the Warner Bros studios of Harry Potter for Potterheads and other people who are interested in the magical world. It was created the 31 March 2012 and it’s near Victoria station. In these studios, you can see all the costumes, the characters’ wigs, decors and how the special effects were made. When you arrive on the place, there are some huge pillars of the chessboard scene and when you come in, youhave to wait before entering and you can buy some stuff about the moviesin a big shop, there’s everything you want ; wands, cloaks, maps, robes, broomsticks, candies, food and more.. and finally, you can enter in Hogwarts, first you’re in the great hall and then you can visit all the piecesof the film ( Dormitories, Weasley’s house, Hagrid’s hut…). Everyone should go there at least once in their lifes, it’s INCREDIBLE ! If it’s not enouugh for you, there’s a game online where you can go to Hogwarts and the Sorting Hat sorts you into a house, you’re finally a real wizard !
