Do not you realize that you are forgetting to take care of yourself because you are buried in your endless problems? Are you getting a bit tired of that spare tire around your waist? Are you becoming increasingly lazy and fat? If it is so, now it is the time to change your life and your attitude towards it using the easiest way that is well-known to each of you; that is physical exercise!
According to the Greek philosopher Plato, lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it.
I would like to show you that we are all in need of exercise, and that physical exercise is vital for everybody. I am assuming that none of you will argue that exercise is harmful. You will agree that it is beneficial. However, I am not sure all of us are actually exercising.
We should start to practice physical exercise, because it is a great way to enjoy the health and psychological benefits for the rest of our lives.
And first I am going to talk about how physical exercise helps us prevent diseases and then I will discuss how it provides better sleep.

Physical exercise is a healthy way to prevent cardiovascular disease, which is the world's leading cause of death.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the USA, over 17 million people worldwide die each year of cardiovascular diseases. This center reported that, in spite of the fact that the number of all U.S. deaths from heart disease decreased to 600.000 in 2009, it remained the leading cause of death. One of the major risk factors associated with heart disease is inactivity. According to scientists, getting some regular, daily exercise can increase your heart's stroke efficiency and reduce your risk of fatal heart disease.
One may say, on the contrary, that regular intense physical exercise may have negative effects on our cardiovascular system, leading to heart rhythm abnormalities.
In fact, it may cause heart diseases, if you do sport very strenuously every day. However, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has concluded that even short amounts of exercise offer heart benefits, so even if you can’t meet professional sport guidelines, don’t give up. According to Kenneth D. Kochanek, the author of a book about causes of death, you can even get the same health benefits if you break up your workout time into three 10-minute sessions most days of the week.

Now that we have briefly spoken about how physical exercise helps to prevent cardiovascular disease, let’s have a look at how it can provide better sleep.

Physical exercise is a healthy and safe way to achieve more and better sleep.
A 2010 review of published scientific research states that adequate sleep is a key part of a healthy lifestyle, which can benefit your heart, weight and mind. Doctors of Philosophy Buman M.P. and King A.C. wrote in their book about exercise as a treatment that physical exercise generally improves sleep for most people and helps sleep disorders such as insomnia.
One may argue that nowadays we deal with modern medicine, which suggests to us wonderful sleeping pills that have a prompt effect in comparison with physical exercise.
I agree that taking this medicine you may immediately fall asleep. But according to Youngstedt S.D., the author of the book Effects of exercise on sleep, physical exercise is the most recommended alternative to sleeping pills. Sleeping pills are more costly than making time for a daily routine of staying fit, may have adverse side effects, and your body may build up a tolerance after long-term usage. Exercise can be a healthy, safe and inexpensive way to achieve more and better sleep, which is essential for a person's health and wellbeing.

I hope I have provided you with an understanding of the fact that physical exercise is vital for us. Just as none of us wants to be called a fatso by our mothers and friends, none of us wants to die earlier than we should. So, why don't we all get into the habit of exercising regularly right now? If all of us now begin a routine of staying in shape, keeping in mind that it will make us healthier and give us a better state of mind and body, we can make the future years of our lives more rewarding.

And why wait for tomorrow? Start today!
