Looking back female characters from Korean TV’s past in 80s and 90s, ideal and stereotype women were often portrayed as good housewives or vulnerable young women. There were specific views of what kinds of women had to be and how women had to behave during specific era. That was what viewers expected. But today women’s roles have been changed at work and home. It is no longer hard to find women playing strong and perfect female characters both on TV and in real-life, and it apparently shows us how far we have come. It also can be seen that gender roles which are generally considered for both a man and a woman are being ambiguous.
