The wolf who wanted to travel the world.
It’s winter in the Faraway Forest and Wolf is bored. His friends are making a snowman. But Wolf doesn’t want to make a snowman
“I have a great idea! I’m going to travel the world”
Wolf is in Paris, France. He takes a riverboat ride and he visits the Eiffel Tower. “It’s so very tall! I can see the whole city!”
Look, Wolf is sitting on a café terrace and he’s writing to his friends in the Faraway Forest
“Hi everyone! I am in Paris. It’s really a beautiful city! I miss you all. Your friend, Wolf”
Wolf is now in London, England. He meets some squirrels and he goes to see Buckingham Palace. It’s the Queen’s residence. “I would like to meet the Queen” he says to the guard.
Look! Wolf is having tea with the Queen and they’re eating cupcakes.
Wolf is now in Italy, in Roma. He eats pasta, and pizza. He visits the museums. Now he is in Venice on a gondola ride. It’s very romantic. But Wolf is sad! His sweetheart is in the Faraway Forest.
Wolf is now in Egypt and he visits the Sphinx and the Great Pyramids. He walks by the Nile. “Look out! There are crocodiles! “ says a camel. Don’t swim in the Nile, it’s dangerous!
Wolf is now in Kenya, Africa. He has a jeep and he goes on a safari across the savannah.
Look, Wolf is in the savannah . “Hello there everyone!” he says to the animals. “What is that? “asks the zebra . “I don’t know’ says the hippo. “Is it a hyena?” says the lion. “No, not at all, I’m a WOLF”
The animals are terrified and they disappear in the bushes. Poor Wolf! He is alone and upset!
Wolf is now in the island of Madagascar. There are colourful flowers and giant baobab trees. Look! Wolf is now scuba-diving with the fish. “Look out wolf, there’s a whale shark behind you!”
“Help me!” Wolf shouts. A lemur on the beach calls out “Keep cool, Wolf. This shark only eats plankton!”
Wolf is now in Nepal. Look! Wolf is climbing Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the Himalayas. “Look out, Wolf! There’s a horrible creature behind you!” It’s Miss Yeti and she wants to marry Wolf. “No way!” Wolf shouts and he races down the mountain.
Wolf is now in China and on the Great Wall of China. Look! Wolf is having lunch with a giant panda. They’re eating a bowl of rice.
Wolf is now in Sydney, Australia. He just wants to sit on the beach and relax. Look! Wolf is now surfing with two kangaroos in Sydney Harbour. “Look out, Wolf! There’s a big wave!” The kangaroo saves him from the big wave.
Wolf writes a postcard to his friends in the Faraway Forest
“Hello friends, Today I went surfing and it was fun sliding on the waves! Your surfing friend, Wolf”
Wolf is now in Rio, Brazil. it’s Carnival! Wolf has a costume and there’s music. There are bright colors and the people are happy. Wolf meets a lot of new friends and he dances, he dances for days and nights. He has a lot of fun!
Wolf is now in New-York City and he wants to see the Statue of Liberty. He is looking at the skyscrapers when someone near him shouts “My darling Wolf, come here and kiss your sweetheart!”
It’s Miss Yeti! “oh, no” and he disappears in the streets of Manhattan.
Wolf is now exhausted! He arrives in a log cabin. He’s in Quebec, Canada. “Welcome to Quebec!” says a friendly caribou. Look at Wolf, he’s sleeping on the caribou’s knees. When he wakes up, he says “That’s it! No more travelling! I’m going home to the Faraway Forest!”
When he arrives in the Faraway Forest, he says “it’s so good to be home!”
He invites all his friends and gives them presents
there are macarons from France
there’s a pizza from Italy, rice from China, hamburgers from New-York City with sodas.
His sweetheart gets the Eiffel Tower in a snow globe.
There’s a boomerang from Australia
There’s a tiny pyramid from Egypt. There’s maple syrup from Canada.
On the walls there are photos of Sydney Opera House, the Great Pyramids, the Great Wall of China and the Statue of Liberty!
There are so many places in the world to explore but there is no place as special as home!
