Slow, please.
Hello. My name is Mary and this is my family. My grandfather’s name is Tom and he is very nice. My grandmother is Susan. She is very kind and sweet. My father is Jack, he is a painter. My mother’s name is Kate and she is my best friend. My brother is Peter and my sister is Joan. She is very beautiful. My cat’s name is Oreo because she is black and white.

I'm going to make you another one (of this text). When I was recording this one, something kept bothering me, but I couldn't figure out what it was until this morning:
We (at least around here, but I've never heard it anywhere else either) would never say "My grandmother is Susan", "My father is Jack", etc., except in very specific, rare situations.
We would say "My grandmother's name is Susan", etc.
I'll record that for you after I've had a chance to wake up :)

I've made you a new recording (the first one listed on the page), with the changes noted above. Plus I amplified the sound more. (My natural voice is very soft.) The first recording I amplified the sound 400%; this second one, %800. When you said that it was for a test for your 5th graders, I imagined the situation and that you might need it louder...with more pauses :)
