Here is an easy recipe for you:

Preheat the oven to 190°C and grease 2 cake tins.

Cream together 225gr butter and 225gr sugar.

Add 4 beaten eggs to the mixture, beat well!

Mix 225fr flour and 2 teaspoons of baking powder together and gradually add it to the mixture.
Use a spoon or a mixer

Divide the mixture equally between 2 two tins and spread out carefully.

Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until golden.

Leave to cool in the tins for 10 minutes and turn out to a cake rack to cool completely.

When cold, spread one half of the sponge cake with with whipped cream, then top with raspberry jam.

Sandwich the two halves together and dust with icing sugar before serving.
