I think he's a swindler. He preaches laziness and "winging it". He wants to make language learning look fun and easy, full of hope for the beginners. But then they start learning and realise that his sentimental slogans are nothing more than sentimental slogans laden with cringe inducing clichés that bombard the medulla with ferocious fallacies. He emphasises the "feel good factor" and appeals to cheap demagogy in his propaganda and pseudo-techniques and shrugs off reality like a demented monomaniac shrugs off psychological intervention. Maybe it will work for beginners with naive and false expectations, but serious people should go elsewhere. Sorry Krashen, but what does it matter if serious people avoid you, serious people make up only 3% of the market. The law of diminishing returns demand that you turn away from that segment of the populace, the most resistant to demagogy, it should be noted, and rechannel your attention towards the elaboration of a new perverse lure for those of minds easily confounded.
