I have made a few changes to your text.

"Collège" students have "professeurs / profs", not "instituteurs". Instituteurs teach at primary school level (and technically, primary school teachers who have been recruted after 1989 should be called "professeurs des écoles" even though the word "instituteur / instit" is still used by many parents).

We tend to use "école" for primary schools and specific college level schools (école d'ingénieur, for example). Middle school students would say that their school is "un bon collège".

When talking about favorite subjects, we say "un cours". As a teacher, I could say "ma classe préférée" but I would be talking about a specific group of students.
