I've read 'chaperon' as 'chaperone' as I suspect that's what you want. (A chaperon is a very old word for a type of hat!)

If I've got that wrong, let me know and I'll record chaperon for you.

Thank you, Geldart. Actually it is "chaperon" in the book I have the word from: "... Andreas Osiander who would become a dear friend and even, later, a chaperon for Argula’s children...", but since it is written by a non-native speaker, I suppose you are right here.

I've never seen the other spelling though! The pronunciation I've recorded is the one to go with, I think, when talking about someone who accompanies another.
