A long, long time ago, eight of our ancestors were in the desert. The land was dry, so the men left their camps to find some water. They travelled north, they travelled south, they travelled east and they travelled west. At the same time, two great Serpent Spirits and two great Emu Spirits were also looking for a water hole. They met our ancestors, and they shared the water. They rested for a while, and then, they continued their journey across the vast desert. That water hole still exists today, and if you’re crossing the desert, you can stop and drink.
