One night, Mike and Jane were coming home from a lovely night at the movies. On the side of the road, they saw a silhouette standing in front of the old church. As they were approaching, they saw that it was a young woman, around eighteen or twenty years old, hitchiking.
There were no houses around and the girl obviously needeed a lift sot hey decided to stop. She was dressed in a vintage-looking prom dress, which was odd because it was not prom season. They let her in the car and asked her where she was going
« 213 second street please. Thank you so much for stopping by the way, my name is Carleen»
The couple kept chatting about the amazing film they had just seen and the girl remained silent. A few minutes later, they pulled in front of 213 Second Street only to realise that the girl had vanished.
They stood perplexed for a while and decided to go knock on the door of 213 Second Street. An old woman answered the door and when they explained the situation, she smiled sadly and said :
« I can’t believe it still happens after 20 years. I miss her everyday since she died in that car crash in front of the old church. It was the night of her prom you know… »
