First of all please understand that the rules in the Code of Discipline and the timetable for the course are framed in your interest and for your benefit - not for the convenience of the teachers or the management. They are designed to give you support and assistance in learning this technique of meditation and the more carefully you follow them, the more successful you will be.
1. REMAINING FOR THE WHOLE COURSE
The first and most basic rule is that you remain here for the entire period of the course. This means remaining within the course boundaries, within the meditation compound, cutting yourself off from all contact with the outside world. This technique is taught step-by-step, in progression over ten days, so for this reason, the full ten days are needed to learn the technique. If you leave in the middle of the course, you will not give yourself a chance to learn the entire technique, and you won’t give the technique a chance to work for you. Leaving in the middle of the course may create serious difficulties for your self. Therefore, you need to make a decision now that you will remain here for the entire period of the course, without any outside contact, from the beginning to the end on Day 11. Despite this advice about staying for the full 10 days, if anyone does decide to leave the course please be sure to inform the managers first. Especially at night, the lanes are dark and narrow, and proper arrangements need to be made to get you safely to a transport connection.
