Once upon a time, there were four teenage English learners - Kind Ksyusha, Marvelous Maria, Magic Maximilian, and Diligent Dauud. They were exceptional at vocabulary and could even master the complexities of English pronunciation. But the past simple and irregular verbs were their nemesis, a mountain they just couldn't scale.
One day, during their English class, their teacher, Miss Grammar, asked, "Ksyusha, what did you do yesterday?" Kind Ksyusha, scratching her head, replied, "Yesterday, I 'go' to the park." The class burst into laughter, and Miss Grammar corrected with a smile, "No, Ksyusha. You 'went' to the park."
Next, it was Marvelous Maria's turn. "Maria, tell us about your last vacation." Maria, with a confident smile, said, ' 'fly' to Paris." The class roared with laughter again. "Maria, it's 'flew", you
'flew' to Paris," corrected Miss Grammar, trying to hide her chuckle.
Magic Maximilian and Diligent Dauud, seeing their friends' predicaments, were already shaking with laughter and fear. Maximilian was asked about his birthday. He stammered, "I...I... 'have' a big cake?" Once more, the class erupted with laughter. "Maximilian, it's 'had'. You 'had' a big cake," Miss Grammar corrected.
Finally, it was Diligent Dad's turn. He had been quiet the whole time, absorbing the lesson.
Miss Grammar asked, "Dauud, what about you? What did you do last weekend?" Dauud looked around the room, gave a cheeky grin, and said, "'learn' the past simple and irregular verbs." The class fell silent, then everyone started laughing, including Miss Grammar.
From that day onward, Kind Ksyusha, Marvelous Maria, Magic Maximilian, and Diligent Dauud decided to conquer the past simple and irregular verbs, turning their funny English class into an unforgettable learning experience.
