To fully understand this, we will exercise practical work on the monitoring of bacterial growth of Escherichia coli.
To begin, we must prepare the culture media to then observe the bacterial growth of E.COLI.This cannot be done without the help of our tutorials sessions that will explain to us how we will prepare these environments thanks to our knowledge acquired during our chemistry and microbiology teaching.
Then, we'll have two additional tutorials to delve deeper into bacterial growth. Here, our knowledge of chemistry and analytical techniques will be put into action.
Following the observation of bacterial growth, we'll analyze their hydrogen potential and glucose concentration during a new practical experiment. We will ascertain this concentration through tutorials that elucidate the method of glucose assay. Once again, it is through the resources of chemistry and analytical techniques that we will achieve this.
!! It should be noted that during this period each of these skills may be subject to evaluations. !!
During all these hours of practical work we will draw up reports each time. They will include protocols, calculations, and also results that will be in our lab book.
To finish the L.E.S practical work gathering our knowledge of statistics and office automation will be implemented to process all the data of bacterial growth monitoring of E.coli.
Expected Results:
The conditions of the medium given to the bacterium is favorable (pH and glucose concentration) to their development
The growth rate will be high at some point. The amount of these bacteria will double at some point.
If we change factors such as the presence of nutrients or other resources bacteria will react differently.
To put in a nutshell this L.E.S we will return our lab book with all the results we have obtained and processed during the practical work to be the subject of a final evaluation.
Thanks for your attention!
