If you are happy with what you do and have passion for it then there is not much reason for you to change your career. But if the work is not challenging for you and you are not happy, then it might be worthwhile to give it a shot and change your career within your ability.

Many foreigners complained that even when Korean restaurants offer English translation, they are not clear enough to help them guess what kind of food will be served. Many restaurants add mere direct translation of their menu further confusing foreign customers. For example, Sundubu which is a spicy red stew with tofu, soybean paste, clams, and summer squash is just translated as "Soft Tofu Stew" which does not give foreigners any inkling of its spiciness. After the food is served, they are very embarrassed. When I travalled abroad, I ordered some food but the waiters misunderstood my English and brought me the wrong dish. I couldn't say anything but just ate it.

The global economy is undergoing a fast transition, dubbed "two-speed world" in which advanced economies are losing growth momentum, while developing economies are continuing to flourish. Korea is likely to stand somewhere in the middle between developing and advanced. I think the Korean economy and companies should shift their focus to emerging economies from developed countries to capitalize on the upcoming change triggered by the global financial crisis.

Easy chocolate cake

For the cake

225g of plain flour
350g of caster sugar
85g of cocoa powder
1½ teanspoon of baking powder
1½ teanspoon of bicarbonate of soda
2 free-range eggs
250ml of milk
125ml of vegetable oil
2 teenspoon of vanilla extract
250ml of boiling water

Jim Crow Laws and Customs

In the American South after the Civil War and the abolition of slavery, the Whites imposed a racist system through ‘Jim Crow’ laws and customs. These were designed to denigrate and segregate African Americans.
One of the pillars of Jim Crow was separate sanitary facilities. Restrooms and drinking fountains were designated “White Only” or “Colored.” There were many fewer restrooms and drinking fountains for blacks than for whites. Every day in cities, towns, and villages across the South, African Americans faced personal emergencies when the access to the only restroom available for urgent needs was forbidden. A black person in that situation had to find some alternative or run the risk of arrest or a beating for using a “Whites Only” restroom.
Black people weren't allowed to go to the same schools or restaurants as the Whites either.
The civil rights movement was a struggle for social justice that took place mainly during the 1950s and 1960s. Black Americans gradually gained equal rights under the law in the United States.

The Space Race

The Space Race was a 20th-century competition between two Cold War rivals, the Soviet Union and the US to achieve firsts in spaceflight capability.
It had its origins in the nuclear arms race between the two nations following World War II.
The technological advantage required to achieve spaceflight milestones quickly was seen as necessary for national security.
The Space Race led to pioneering efforts to launch artificial satellites, uncrewed space probes of the Moon, Venus, and Mars, and human spaceflight in low Earth orbit and to the Moon.
