Dreadful Jack's flag was black, there was an hourglass with wings in the center. There was a skull on the right and a giant squid on the left.

On Grumpy Harry's flag, there were two crossed swords in the center. I think it was to show his fighting spirit. Then, under the swords there was an anchor, maybe because Grumpy Harry loved the sea and was a true sailor!

Scary Bobby's flag was red, there was a black heart in the middle. Under the heart, there were two daggers. On the left there was an arrow and on the right there was a fishbone.

Hello! My name is Alex. I’m 20 years old. I live in France. I study here. I study medicine because I want to be a doctor and help people. I need to be hard-working. Sometimes I wake up very early and I don’t sleep much but I love studying! When I have free time, I play basketball with friends or dance.

I live with my brother Max, he is 18 and he learns French at university. He reads a lot of books, writes and translates texts.My brother cooks food for us, he is very good at it! Max is artistic, he plays the guitar and sings. He cannot play the violin but he wants to learn. He paints well, too. It is nice to live with Max because we are not bored and we can talk.

What is Impasto?
Impasto is a thick application of paint where you can see the ridges and lumps of paint.
Artists often use a palette knife to scrape the thick paint onto the surface.
It ends up with brushstrokes that you can see and adds another dimension to the artwork.
