Ants are social insects of the family Formicidae and, along with the related wasps and bees, belong to the order Hymenoptera. Ants evolved from wasp-like ancestors in the mid-Cretaceous period between 110 and 130 million years ago and diversified after the rise of flowering plants. More than 12,500 out of an estimated total of 22,000 species have been classified. They are easily identified by their elbowed antennae and a distinctive node-like structure that forms a slender waist.

Ants form colonies that range in size from a few dozen predatory individuals living in small natural cavities to highly organised colonies which may occupy large territories and consist of millions of individuals. These larger colonies consist mostly of sterile wingless females forming castes of "workers", "soldiers", or other specialised groups. Nearly all ant colonies also have some fertile males called "drones" and one or more fertile females called "queens". The colonies are sometimes described as superorganisms because the ants appear to operate as a unified entity, collectively working together to support the colony.

Ants have colonised almost every landmass on Earth. The only places lacking indigenous ants are Antarctica and a few remote or inhospitable islands. Ants thrive in most ecosystems, and may form 15–25% of the terrestrial animal biomass. Their success in so many environments has been attributed to their social organisation and their ability to modify habitats, tap resources, and defend themselves. Their long co-evolution with other species has led to mimetic, commensal, parasitic, and mutualistic relationships.

Ant societies have division of labour, communication between individuals, and an ability to solve complex problems. These parallels with human societies have long been an inspiration and subject of study.

Many human cultures make use of ants in cuisine, medication and rituals. Some species are valued in their role as biological pest control agents. However, their ability to exploit resources brings ants into conflict with humans, as they can damage crops and invade buildings. Some species, such as the red imported fire ant, are regarded as invasive species, establishing themselves in areas where they are accidentally introduced.

아~창밖의 날씨가 너무 좋아요. 정말 멋진 오월의 햇살입니다!
잔인한 사월은 쫓겨 가고, 드디어 아름다운 오월입니다! 그런데, 어제 제가 저질렀던 바보같은 이야기를 해 드리겠습니다. 어제 나는 아들 면회를 갔습니다. 네, 저는 아들이 있어요. 그리고 그 아들은 대한민국 군인이랍니다. 놀라셨어요? 하하하~~~ 저는 이미 나이 많은 엄마랍니다. 여러분은 아세요? 어떤분은 이미 아실테고 어떤분은 모르시기도 하실거예요. 일반적으로 몸과 마음이 건강한 한국의 젊은이는 누구나 국방의 의무를 다해야 합니다.

아무튼, 어제 나는 혼자서 아들을 보러 갔어요.
왜냐 하면 남편이 그저께 북경/베이징에 갔기 때문이거던요.
그래서 나는 나 혼자 가는 일이 좀 걱정이/염려가 되었어요.
나 혼자 운전해서 가는 일이 처음이였거던요.
그러나 다행히도, 아무일 없이/무사히 경비소입구에 도착 했답니다.

네 , 정문 경비초소까지는 아무 무사히 도착했답니다.
그러면 내 신분증과 면회증/출입증을로 바꿔야 하거던요./교환 해야 하거던요.
그래 경비 서는 군인인 장애물(큰 못을 박아두고 무단진입을 방지 하는곳) 앞에 정차 하라 했어요.
그런데 내가 출입증을 받아서 시동을 다시 걸고 ,막 출발을 하려 하는데~~? 앗?
뭐지? 이게 무슨 소리야? 피시식~피시식~(@__@;;)
네!!!! 내 타이어에서 바람 빠지는 소리였습니다.!
이런 바보 같은 일이! 이렇게 멍청하다니!
뭐, 어떻게 해요? 보험회사에 전화해서 최대한 빨리 도와 달라고 부탁했답니다.
아들도 나와서 보더니 한숨을 날리며 단지 "아휴~ 엄~~마~~!!" 라고 말할뿐입니다. @_@;;

그래서, 뭐그래도 괜잖았어요.
보험사원이 타이어를 갈아 주고,
나와 아들은 5월의 봄을 군대 정원에서 보냈어요.
그 정원에 엄청나게 큰 벗나무가 있거던요.
그 나무 아래에서 우리는 떡을 먹었답니다.
그리고 산을 따라서 난 작은 시냇물을 따라서 산책도 했고요^^
물론 베티 짱아도 한께 걸었지요.
그래서 이것이 바로 '바보같은 방방의 이야기'였습니다!'

안녕하세요? 여러분은 오늘을 어떻게 보내었어요? 여러분이 있는 곳의 날씨는 어땠나요?
이곳 서울 날씨는 거의 여름이었답니다. 네, 여름이 오고 있네요! 아니~ 아예 날아 오고 있습니다. 오늘 날씨가 참 좋았어요. 햇살이 빛나는 날이었습니다. 우리는 호숫가 옆의 키 큰 나무들 아래 돗자리를 깔고 편하게 누웠습니다. 나무 아래 누우니, 나뭇잎들이 흔들리며 서걱서걱 아주 듣기 좋은 소리를 냈습니다.
바닥에 누워서 하늘을 쳐다 보니, 바람에 흔들리는 나뭇잎들이 햇살에 비치어 투명한 연녹색으로 밝게 반짝여 정말 아름다웠습니다. 우리는 간식도 먹고 음료수도 마시며 이런저런 이야기를 나누며, 나중에는 전화로 파닭을 시켜 먹었답니다. (하하 : ‘파닭’이 무어냐고요? ‘파닭’이란 파와 닭을 버무린 닭요리입니다.) 그리고 이곳에 첫 면회를 왔던 날에 대해 이야기 했습니다. 그때는 초겨울의 추운 날씨이었는데, 이제 한달 뒤면 제대를 하네요. 시간은 절대 머물러있지 않고 흐릅니다!

• Yes!It`s for me! When I was a student, the conditions for learning a foreign language were really poor.
• There wasn't any mp3, internet, video,...etc, there were only books, and after graduating, there was almost no opportunity to use English.
• I would also like to learn English from now on^^.

1) Spend the time! 시간을 할애 하세요.
By far the most important factor is how much time you are immersed in the language. The more time you spend with the language, the faster you will learn. This means listening, reading, writing, speaking, and studying words and phrases. This does not mean sitting in class looking out the window, nor listening to other students who do not speak well, nor getting explanations in your own language about how the language works. This means spending time enjoyably connected to the language you are learning.

2) Listen and read every day! 날마다 읽고 들으세요!
Listen wherever you are on your MP3 player. Read what you are listening to. Listen to and read things that you like, things that you can mostly understand, or even partly understand. If you keep listening and reading you will get used to the language. One hour of listening or reading is more effective than many hours of class time.

3) Focus on words and phrases! 단어와 구절에 집중하세요!
Build up your vocabulary, you’ll need lots. Start to notice words and how they come together as phrases. Learn these words and phrases through your listening and reading. Read online, using online dictionaries, and make your own vocabulary lists for review. Soon you will run into your new words and phrases elsewhere. Gradually you will be able to use them. Do not worry about how accurately you speak until you have accumulated a plenty of words through listening and reading.

4) Take responsibility for your own learning! 당신의 배움에 대해 책임감을 가지세요.

If you do not want to learn the language, you won’t. If you do want to learn the language, take control. Choose content of interest, that you want to listen to and read. Seek out the words and phrases that you need to understand your listening and reading. Do not wait for someone else to show you the language, nor to tell you what to do. Discover the language by yourself, like a child growing up. Talk when you feel like it. Write when you feel like it. A teacher cannot teach you to become fluent, but you can learn to become fluent if you want to.

5) Relax and enjoy yourself! 느긋하게 당신 자신을 즐기세요!
Do not worry about what you cannot remember, or cannot yet understand, or cannot yet say. It does not matter. You are learning and improving. The language will gradually become clearer in your brain, but this will happen on a schedule that you cannot control. So sit back and enjoy. Just make sure you spend enough time with the language. That is the greatest guarantee of success.

• Hi everybody! It`s a Saturday evening, and it`s a relaxed time.
• This Saturday, I didn`t need to hurriedly get up early in the morning, and didn`t need to go out for doing anything, I just had been taking rest freely in the house in a very lazy manner, freely rested /lied freely on a sofa and read newspapers, and also had read of the last year`s May entries with lang-8 friends`corrections.
• As I told already, my English is very poor, because I had learned English long time ago.
• However after I wrote Chinese entries in this lang-8 site, I felt writing English entry also will be good for my learning pleasure.
• Even though every time I begin to write English entries I used to feel a little nervous, but I guess that it`s a good nervous feeling and that it gives me more pleasure of learning omething unknown .
• I don`t need to learn very fast, just want to learn slowly, just only steady and with pleasure.
• Because it`s my wonderful hobby.
• If I ask learn very fast, may be I will lose my real pleasure of learning and hobby.
• .And besides teaching someone who are learning Korean, it also my pleasure.
• Therefore I am trying to write in Korean and record Korean at the same time, just if I can.

모두 안녕하셔요? 오늘은 토요일이어서 아침에 서둘러 일어날 필요도 없고, 외출할 일도 없어서, 집에서 게으름을 부리며 쉬었답니다. 소파에 길게 누워서 지나간 신문들을 뒤적이며, 또 작년 5월달의 lang-8일기들을 살펴 보았답니다. Lang-8친구들이 수정해 준 부분을 특히 잘 살펴 보면서 말이지요.
이미 전에 말했듯이 저는 영어를 너무 오래 전에 배웠기 때문에 실력이 형편없습니다. 그러나 이곳 lang-8에서 중국어 일기를 쓰기 시작하면서, 영어 일기를 써 봐도 좋겠다는 생각이 들었습니다. 영어일기를 쓰면 즐거우리라는 느낌이 들었거든요. 솔직히 말하면, 영어 일기를 매번 쓸 때마다 아, 마음이 심란해집니다.그러지만, 그런 걱정도 내게는 이전에 몰랐던 사실을 배우는 기쁨의 일부라고 여겨집니다
저는 빨리 서둘러 배울 필요가 없습니다. 단지 천천히 배우면 됩니다. 즐거움을 가지고 말이지요. 왜냐하면 이것은 나의 아주 굉장한 취미이기 때문입니다.. 만약 내가 빨리 배우기만을 원한다면 나의 취미로써 배우는 즐거움을 잃어버릴 수도 있습니다. 그래서 누군가가 한국어를 배우려는 분들께 한국어를 가르쳐 주는 것도 나의 즐거움 중의 하나입니다. 그래서 나는 동시에 한국어로도 일기를 쓰고 한국어로 녹음도 해 주려고 노력하고 있습니다. 단지 가능하다면 말이지요.
오, 이미 저녁 해가 서산에 걸려 있네요. 하늘은 노란색으로 물들고, 남편은 TV 야구 경기에 푹 빠져 있고, 우리집 개 짱아는 내 발 밑에서 코를 골고 있습니다. 짱아 어미인 베티는 마루바닥에 길게 늘어져 낮잠을 자고 있습니다. 모두 편안한 주말 보네셔요! ((^_____________^))
