• Hi, everyone! How are you?
• Everyone, did you have a good rest this weekend?/ /

Last weekend was a three-day weekend in Korea since yesterday(,Monday,) was Memorial Day(, a public/legal holiday).
• =In Korea, this past weekend was made of up three consecutive holidays. Yesterday was the Korean Memorial Day, a legal holiday.

• However I was very busy because of many family events with my in-laws family and my parent`s family, both.
= However, I was very busy due to events for both my in-laws and my immediate family.

• Among these events was a traditional Korean wedding ceremony, which I wrote about yesterday. (http://lang-8.com/117072/journals/960019 ) The day before yesterday, I attended my brother/sister-in-law's wedding ceremony.

• It was a Korean traditional style ceremony and it`s rarely to be seen these days/nowdays.

모두 안녕하세요? 여러분, 주말은 편히 잘 쉬셨어요?

한국에서는 어제가 '현충일' 공휴일이어서 사흘간 연휴였어요. 그렇지만 저는 시댁과 친정의 집안 행사로 좀 바빴답니다 그 중에서 어제는 전통혼례식에 대해 썼습니다.
그저께 시댁에 결혼식이 있었는데, 전통혼례식이었습니다. 요즘은 전통 혼례식을 올리는 경우가 드물거든요. 오늘 일기에 제가 찍은 사진 몇 장을 올리니, 여러분의 전통혼례에 대한 이해에 조금 도움이 되시기를 바랍니다. 어제 일기는 한국어로 쓰지 않았습니다. 좀 피곤해서 말이지요...그렇지만 조만간 한국어로 쓰고 녹음도 해 보도록 하겠습니다. 만약 시간이 된다면 말이지요..

그리고, 아래는 제가 신문에서 본 건데 여러분 관심 있으시면 한번 읽어 보시고 실천 해 보셔요. 하하하, 물론 우리 모두 잘 알고 있지요. " 말보다 실천이 우선이다!"

햇살은 반짝이고 공기는 맑습니다.
여러분이 있는 곳의 날씨는 어때요?
지금 나는 학교에 있어요, 쉬는 중이랍니다. 왜냐하면 아이들이 딴 선생님의 수업을 듣고 있거든요. 지금 자전거 안전 교육을 받는 중이랍니다.
나는 지난 1주일간 학교에 안 왔었는데, 오늘부터 5주간 학교에 와야 한답니다.
아, 지금 교실로 돌아 가야 해요. 그럼, 안녕!

Just for today, I will try to live through this day only, and not tackle my whole life problem at once. I can do something for twelve hours that would appall me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime.

She listened and laughed at me. She told me about her experience with David and how he too was different than other guys she'd liked. Then she explained how it was his qualities, his humility, and servanthood that drew her heart. As I listened, I realized that all my life I've based my relationships on feelings and attraction. Claire emphasized that this decision of courtship and marriage can't be based on feelings. We are fickle people. Julie had told me the same thing. You can't trust your affections, but you can rely on love and character.

Everyone thinks Mark is a bored person because he collects things, and some people feel that collecting things is one of the most bored hobbies. Mark's collections are rather different, though: one is a collection of chocolate wrappers, while the other is aeroplane boarding passes!
"I know my collections look unusual, or even eccentric, but in fact there are quite a few people collecting these things", he says. "I now have 102 wrappers and 23 boarding passes, and both my collections still grow! Whenever I'm out, I occasionally keep an eye out for different wrappers and if I see a chocolate bar whit a wrapper I haven't got, I buy it. As for boarding passes, I sometimes travel by plane myself, but I've asked all my friends and relatives to bring me some whenever they fly anywhere.
It's actually really fun and quite challenging to find different designs, though my mum is getting more and more tired of the mess in my room; she is always telling me she is going to throw everything out!

Facing the criminals
It was late in the evening and I was upstairs in my bed, reading a novel before going to sleep. My parents had gone out and wouldn’t be back home until late.
I was reaching the end of the last chapter when I heard a strange noise downstairs in the living room. At first, I thought I was just imagining things, but then I heard the noise again, a bit louder, this time. I put down my book and listened carefully. Someone was downstairs: it was probably a thief, or even worse, a murderer!
I wasn’t going to be a coward! I tiptoed downstairs, after I had grabbed a broomstick from the cupboard. I could hear someone whispering in the kitchen. Slowly and carefully, I opened the kitchen door, the broomstick in my hand shouted “I’ve got you!”
“Good evening, Mark!”- my mum said- “Have you been reading crime novels again?”

Waiter: Welcome to Antico's. Here are your menus. Today's special is grilled salmon. I'll be back to take your order in a minute.

Waiter: Are you ready to order?

Customer 1: I'd like the seafood spaghetti.

Waiter: And you?

Customer 2: I'll have a hamburger and fries.

Waiter: Would you like anything to drink?

Customer 1: I'll have a coke, please.

Waiter: And for you?

Customer 2: Just water, please.

Waiter: OK. So that's one seafood spaghetti, one hamburger and fries, one coke, and one water. I'll take your menus.

Waiter: Here is your food. Enjoy your meal.

Waiter: How was everything?

Customers 2: Delicious, thanks.

Waiter: Would you like anything for dessert?

Customer 1: No, just the bill please.
