Mrs. Stuart : Good afternoon Sir.
Mr. El Fennani : Good afternoon Madam. How may I help you ?
Mrs. Stuart : I would like to organise my next holiday. Which country do you recommend visiting?
Mr. El Fennani : I recommend you visit India. Over there, the landscapes are very different.
Mrs. Stuart : Oh, why not! I’m not very good at Geography. Where is this country located ?
Mr. El Fennani : It’s in Asia, Madam.
Mrs. Stuart : What is the name of the capital ?
Mr. El Fennani : It’s New Delhi, but the main city (the most famous one) is Mumbai.
Mrs. Stuart : Ah! yes, of course, I see where it is now! Do people speak English?
Mr. El Fennani : Yes, they do, Madam. The inhabitants speak several languages.
Hindi and English are the two official languages of the country.
Mrs. Stuart : Several languages! It must be a very populous country! How many inhabitants are there?
Mr. El Fennani : There are around 1.38 billion people in India, Madam.
Mrs. Stuart : That’s a lot ! But… how long does an average inhabitant live ?
Mr. El Fennani : An average inhabitant lives for 70 years.
Mrs. Stuart : Less than in England unfortunately…
What about spirituality in India ? Which religions do people believe in ?
Mr. El Fennani : It depends. There are three major religions: Hinduism, Islam and Christianity.
Mrs. Stuart : Great ! There must be a lot of religious places to see !
Mr. El Fennani : You are right ! I recommend you see the Golden temple in particular. This monument is breathtaking !
Mrs. Stuart : When should I go exactly ?
Mr. El Fennani : Well, you can visit the Golden Temple at any time of the year.
You should go to India in March, though. It’s the moment when people celebrate Diwali festival.
Mrs. Stuart : What is it ? What do the inhabitants do ?
Mr. El Fennani : People throw colored powder into the air. It is an old tradition to celebrate the arrival of Spring.
Mrs. Stuart : Why is it interesting ?
Mr. El Fennani : Because it’s a moment when people reunite and share their joy.
It’s a good way to relax !
Mrs. Stuart : Alright, it’s very convincing !
One last point : if I go to India, which food speciality should I eat ?
Mr. El Fennani : I recommend you taste local Chicken Tikka Masala.
Mrs. Stuart : I have never tried it. What are the main ingredients ?
Mr. El Fennani : There are chicken breasts, rice and spices.
Mrs. Stuart : Thank you for your help. I will come back to book a trip with your agency.
