For me a selfie is a picture that you take of yourself with your smart phone and you post it on social media on the internet.
Personally, I never take selfies because I don't have Facebook or Instagram for example. And I don't want to share my private life with other people.
Pictures are personal and I just want to show them to my friends and family.
About this new trend, I think it's a waste of time! There are more important things than taking pictures of yourself, eating, sleeping, or making duckfaces.
It's really not interesting. Very often, people don't think about their pictures before they post them on the net. They just take many stupid selfies. They are obsessed with their appearance.
I guess these picures are not artistic at all.
