In Her Pyjamas
Last week, my husband's younger brother and his girlfriend, who live in Sydney, came to visit us. While they were here, we went to see Tim Freedman (who used to be the singer songwriter for the Sydney based band "The Whitlams") perform.
Over ten years ago, my husband's brother gave us their breakthrough CD, called "Eternal Nightcap". I often listen to it in the kitchen with my daughter. Today, I would like to try to translate the song, "Melbourne" from that album. It is a love song about a long distance relationship. The singer lives in Sydney, but his girlfriend lives in Melbourne. (Just so you know, Melbourne is often called "the rainy city".)
When it gets to the line, "If I had three lives, I'd marry her in two", my daughter always screws up her face and says, "What's that supposed to mean!?" My answer differs depending on the day. Sometimes, I say, "Australian men are hopeless".
Dear Everyone,
Because I'm intending to take the JLPT3 exam in December, I am going to have to start doing some serious study.
Therefore I’ve decided to take a break from Lang 8 from next Wednesday.
Of course, as soon as the exam is over, I'll return.
But, I will miss you all.
Wish me luck,
Lisaveeta
