Your sentence is grammatically correct, but there is another way we talk about 2 people. It is weird, but it's natural to us. It's kind of "we and my wife" which actually means there were only 2 people - my wife and I.
I recorded both options, yours and mine.
Another example "мы с папой" means my father and I.
Another pronoun. Where a native speaker of a European language would say "my family" we would say "our family". Even when we don't talk to other member of its own family. Actually I realized this weird use of pronouns when an Ukrainian solder said in an interview "I really miss our family".
