I had a business appointment with Charles Villaroy at 4 p.m. We had signed a contract for the
building of luxury apartments in Greets Green Park.
Charles was upset because he had received a threatening letter which read “stop the
construction site if you want to live”. I told him not to worry, that it was probably some
harmless environmentalist who wanted to protect Greets Green Park. I guess I should have
taken that threat more seriously...
The construction had just started but now that Charles is dead and his money has gone, it has
stopped.
Anyway, I left at about 5 p.m. I guess I was the last person who saw him alive!
Now that I come to think of it, I remember seeing someone as I left the house. It was dark
when I saw him and I was quite a long way away, but what I do remember is that he turned
towards me and he looked aggressive with a frown and his eyes narrowing. He had a lock of
hair across his forehead. I think he had designer stubble... Ummm his face was quite round
with quite thick lips and a flat nose. He really scared me!
It would be better to say -
“stop work at the
construction site if you want to live”
or
“stop the
construction if you want to live”
