How much free time do you have? Is it more or less than in the past? Why?
Nowadays I have much less free time than I used to have when I was young. For one thing, I have to do my shopping and cook my meals. I also have to work and I rely only on myself. I miss the days when I was a student and my parents did everything for me.
Give an example of one terrible job from the past that has disappeared. Why do you think it disappeared?
I’m glad that there are no chimney sweeps nowadays. It was a really sad job. These children had to clean the inside of chimneys at the time when coal was used for heating. It was a really dirty, dangerous job. In fact, many of them died because they got stuck and suffocated or burned to death. This job disappeared because modern systems of heating were invented.
