Contents are defined as a set of knowledge, abilities, skills, and attitudes which contribute to the achievement of the objectives for each educational stage and the acquisition of the relevant competences in the Spanish legal framework.
In English language, contents are oriented towards the acquisition of communicative competence in the foreign language, through a communicative approach which emphasizes language skills and socio-¬cultural aspects as the basis of language mastery.
The contents of this syllabus design are based on the official ones for the 5th course of Primary Education as established by the Decree 89/2014. Culture is to be worked in throughout the whole stage.
The contents are grouped into: comprehension and production (expression and interaction) of oral and written texts. These four blocks, related to the two specific attention centres: oral and written language.
In this syllabus design, we will pay special attention to the achievement of the following contents, which I will present classified according to the blocks proposed in the Decree 89/2014.
