Do you know what is more expensive than gold?
It’s the book. Book is the best friend ever you can have. It is partner who never gets bored and the friend who never be late when I call. It obedient to me in every time and it never be hypocrite nor lie to me. Also, because his help, learned a lot of information, but of course is not enough so I still need learn more. Book broadens my knowledge horizon and has improved my speaking ability as well. It can’t spare me any useful information, gives me in every time morning or evening. When people sleep, I find it close to me. When I carry it and start to turn its pages, it caresses my thoughts. It gives me the comfort and gets the boredom away from me. Because of books, I knew what I didn’t know from others oral. I have stayed away from bad friends since I started to read books, and they were the best things I take in my traveling. Book never leave me for a moment except if I leave it.
I’m interested in reading books, because people cannot be educated without them. One day when I was young, my father invited our relatives and neighbors for dinner: while we were setting in living room, I was setting next to my grand father and in front of my uncle, guests were talking and my brother was serving them there was a man start talking loudly, telling a story. He grabbed people’s attention, the place became quiet, and we were listening carefully to him. The man was speaking fluently and confidently. He was telling us about my country’s history and how it became a Kingdom. He took us to many years before and we felt that. He touched my emotion and drew a big picture of the history. His story was fascinated and we love it. He inspired me, so I asked my grand father who is this; he said that he is an author and reader. At that time, I was pensive how can I become like him. I looked at my grandpa, and then I said I would like to be a good reader like him, I want to be informative. Then he said to me ok, but you should promise me that you are going to do your best. After that, I promised him. By the next day, I woke up and I found a gift right next to me, I was so excited then I opened it, I found it an Arabic book, it's Open the Window There is a Light, written by Khaled Muneef. I felt that there is something new in my life something is good. I started to read the first page, second page, and I couldn’t stop reading. Every page made me more curious to read the next until I finished it. Then I bought another book and another. I became possessed in reading books. Every time I feel bored I go to my room and start reading. I read in my free time and stop when I’m busy. I became like the thirsty, who is nothing could make him feels good like books. They benefit and guide me to the right way without resorting others. Books light the darkness in my mind and help me with everything in my life.
