English Audio Request

Note to recorder:

Hi there. The text is from an ESL textbook, as part of the UK English Programme series, which was not written by English-speaking writers, so I think there remain several phrases which sound not natural to you. If so, please feel free to change them.

My students are in their 4th grade. Could you help me make two separate recordings for the text – one at your normal/natural speed, and the other at your slow speed?

I think the recording with your normal speed will be useful to their listening practice since it will be challenging enough, and hopefully they will not be bored! Meanwhile, the recording with your slow one will help them differentiate different sounds, and thereby enable them to copy your pronunciation easily.

Thank you in advance!

The Library

The library is a good place to be on a wet day. You can find the answers to all your questions there.

When you want to know something about the world you live in, there are a lot of books to read. You can learn about mountains, rivers, animals or the stars.

You can take the books home with you for three weeks.

The library is a great place to do your homework because it is always very quiet, so try not to talk loudly when you are there.

Some libraries have shops, and you can buy things like pens and maps there. There is sometimes a café. Try to go to the library more often!
