Hi there. The text is from an ESL textbook, as part of the UK English Programme series, which was not written by English-speaking writers, so I think there remain several phrases which sound not natural to you. If so, please feel free to change them.
My students are in their 4th grade. Could you help me make two separate recordings for the text – one at your normal/natural speed, and the other at your slow speed?
I think the recording with your normal speed will be useful to their listening practice since it will be challenging enough, and hopefully they will not be bored! Meanwhile, the recording with your slow one will help them differentiate different sounds, and thereby enable them to copy your pronunciation easily.
Thank you in advance!
My name’s Jack and I live with my mum and dad and my younger sister, Daisy. She’s five. Last week, we moved to a new house. Dad said, “It’s got a great garden.” Daisy was very excited. But I didn’t want to go because my best friend lived in the old house next to ours.
Thank you very much, Jim Bob!
