English Audio Request

Note to recorder:

Hi there. The text is from an ESL textbook, as part of the UK English Programme series, which was not written by English-speaking writers, so I think there remain several phrases which sound not natural to you. If so, please feel free to change them.

My students are in their 4th grade. Could you help me make two separate recordings for the text – one at your normal/natural speed, and the other at your slow speed?

I think the recording with your normal speed will be useful to their listening practice since it will be challenging enough, and hopefully they will not be bored! Meanwhile, the recording with your slow one will help them differentiate different sounds, and thereby enable them to copy your pronunciation easily.

Thank you in advance!

Catch something different

I love fishing at the lake near my house. I often go fishing with my dad. I can catch a lot of fish and often take them home for my mum. She can make many kinds of good food, such as fish soup or fried fish. But last Saturday, I didn’t catch any fish. I went home in a bad mood and put my fish bag on the table in the kitchen. Suddenly, the bag started to move. “What’s in my bag, Mum?” I asked. “Let’s see!” said Mum. She opened it carefully and there came a turtle. “Wow! So cute.” I said when I saw it. Then I asked my mum to keep it in a big box. I love it very much and feed it water, plants and worms every day.
