English Audio Request

Note to recorder:

Hello there. The text is from an ESL textbook, as part of the UK English Programme series, which was not written by English-speaking writers, so I think there remain several phrases which sound not natural to you. If so, please feel free to change them.

My students are in their 4th grade. Could you help me make two separate recordings for the text – one at your normal/natural speed, and the other at your slow speed? For this reading, please place emphasis on past verbs.

I think the recording with your normal speed will be useful to their listening practice since it will be challenging enough, and hopefully they will not be bored! Meanwhile, the recording with your slow one will help them differentiate different sounds, and thereby enable them to copy your pronunciation easily.

Thank you in advance!

Tony's dream

I had a strange dream last night. In my dream, I lost my bike so I didn’t have to go to school. Then, I flew to the moon. I became a fireman. I danced in the supermarket. And I talked to a spider.

Then I saw my mum and dad on the street. They moved to a new flat on the 18th floor. The flat had a swimming pool. In the living room, there was a cat and a dog on the sofa. They sang a song to welcome us. We were very happy.
