Hello there. The text is from an ESL textbook, as part of the UK English Programme series, which was not written by English-speaking writers, so I think there remain several phrases which sound not natural to you. If so, please feel free to change them.
My students are in their 4th grade. Could you help me make two separate recordings for the text – one at your normal/natural speed, and the other at your slow speed?
I think the recording with your normal speed will be useful to their listening practice since it will be challenging enough, and hopefully they will not be bored! Meanwhile, the recording with your slow one will help them differentiate different sounds, and thereby enable them to copy your pronunciation easily.
Thank you in advance!
Last week, my family moved to a new flat. It’s on the 11th floor. This new flat is bigger than the old one. It has got three bedrooms, a big living room and a nice kitchen. I like it because I can see the city from the balcony. On the 1st night, I had a strange dream. I lost my bike. And then my grandma bought me a new one. But on the next day, I was very happy because I still saw my old bike. Now I often ride a bike when I have free time.
The first is fast and the second one is slow. I hope the kids have fun with the recording.
I have an American accent, so I hope that that doesn't confuse their ears too much.
